This was part of Mariah's reference sheet, as a side view, seen here: (Mature) http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8062494/ . During drawing this, Vaporeon noted that Mariah looked like a very tropical character, and later, that her wool colours look a lot like a sunset. I believe that was the inspiration of this image, which looks fantastic!
