Like a new way to serve something at dinner that can be a little fun for the guests to eat from and is easy to do? Why not use the outside of the fruit as the serving vessel!
In the case of this watermelon I used a boning knife (It's longer, slender, and more thin so it is easier to make curves with) and went along the inside shell of the watermelon. Then I cut across and down the center to make lots of pieces for the guests to simple pick from.
For an extra special treat you can sprinkle with a little sea salt and drizzle with a little balsamic vinegar. It works well! Feta Cheese is also delicious with watermelon too.
This technequie works also for Pineapple wedges (Or if you cut the ends off, halves) and most other fruits that have a harder exterior that you don't want to eat.
A simple way to serve to delight your guests and have a little less mess too.
