I'm so torn on this one...
It was just a slice of pizza. Hardly deserves the death penalty.
However, the raccoon was so at home, just doing the theft...right in front of the obvious owner. It's a natural act of thinning out the stupid from the gene pool.
A theft should be punished. That crime will certainly not be repeated.
By law, an unwelcomed thief in one's residence can certainly warrent such a retaliation, legally.
Guess if I was a juror on this, I'd say the intruder falls under the 'Make my day' law and the owner made the thief's life forfeit. Case closed, lawfully.
