This piece is for a contest/theme challenge being held over at deviantART. The theme was to take some sort of cute or adorable idea and make it horrific employing werewolves. Here we have my final product.
What I wanted to do here is depict this gory scene in which some off-camera bad guy has a thing out for one or both of our subjects, and Zeke is fighting himself ragged protecting his kid sister, who is too young to defend herself. Here we see Hylie clinging to her older brother after being beaten soundly by the unfortunate sap who thought it was a good idea to mess with a wolfman's little sis.
I got the idea while watching a friend play through BioShock 2. I love how adorably horrid the relationship between the Big Daddies and the Little Sisters is, and I thought that the sort of horrible and bloody, yet oddly "d-awww" inspiring dynamic could easily be applied to mentally-crippled, monstrous Zeke and his innocent little sister that he (spoilers) gets landed with taking care of by himself.
I tired out a few new things here, namely using way darker shades for the shadows. I'm trying to achieve a more graphic novel-y feel, and you see a lot of really dark cell shading in that kind of art, so I took a stab at it. I also gave Hylie a bit of a shiner, which was interesting since I've rarely done bruises. It's a bummer that it got so shadowed-over, but you can still kind of see it where the swelling peeks through the shadows.
Anyways, that's it. This was really fun to work on. I hope this stands up in the challenge. There are quite a few really good submissions this month.

i love the idea of a big, monsterous creature protecting someone that's dear to him.
these kind of drawings will speak way more to (atleast my) emotion then a drawing of an innocent couple.
i love the effects and am so jellous of the way you draw blood that well X3 greatly done!
excuse my failing English. i'm Dutch XD

Thanks a ton! =D I've never been much into the innocent couple thing. It's too cliched. I like this kind of dynamic more 'cause, like you said, it's kind of more touching, you know?
And, I actually didn't draw the blood by hand. I wish I was that good. XD No, this was done with a splatter brush pattern in photoshop. It's not as prestigious, but it got the job done in a pinch, and it looks cool. I just wish I could remember where I downloaded the pattern image from so I could credit it, but it was stock imagery anyways, so as far as I know it's fair-game to use. Still, it would be nice to credit someone who worked hard on making the stock brushes... But I digress.
I'm glad you enjoy my work! ^_^
Also, your english is fine! :)
