I'm on a break from my normal arting, to work on my areas too improve them. I have this one Star Trek book that is the art of the series, and the cover has the Enterprise Refit shooting astoroids and the steps from line work, to finished painting. I wanted to work on my shading based on the secound step they show, but also trying to make it look like the finished would.

I didn't really know what to do, and didn't want it to be a complete copy of the referance, so I just had the Enterprise, then added the D7 Klingon cruiser, then felt they needed a reason to be flying together, so I added the Romulain Bird of Prey.
