For my final in Color Theory I was given the option to do whatever I wanted, using any subject, and any media I wished as long as I could take one of the concepts I learned and apply it to the final project. I chose to draw a flock of cockatiels since they're my favorite birds. My teacher and a couple students suggested I use the warm/cool color concept and make the birds all very colorful. So I went with it! I will say I'm not as happy with it as I should have been. I mean I do love the drawing, but I love cockatiels in their usual colors of grays and yellow/oranges. I should have chosen a different parrot to be honest. But this ended up taking about a week to complete on its own I wasn't about to turn back and scrap it. The instructor was pleased with the turnout anyway and I guess that counts for something. I tried to incorporate various cockatiel mutations as well (standard, pearl, lutino etc) which was a bit of a challenge when it came to working with odd colors instead of the grays. Ohhh well I do still like the picture
