First year, the last place Ruga wanted to be, working to restore Earth for Humanity, the most hated species in the galaxy. What a way to go. Because of his probation and forced attendance at Wormwood Academy he was required to take all of the required classes, Earth Colonies being one of them. The school system was set up so that the same class of students from Earth Colonies would be in the same class setting into the following year, and into EBS (Earth Biological Survey studies) that began in year 3 as this would affect grouping and participation throughout the 8 years attending. This was needed to ensure a constant and steady work habit and ensure good bonds between students in their selected groups. This wasn’t always the case, as students would also be given the choice later to switch out into other groups if they wanted. Needless to say, because of Ruga’s unique case in particular,he got stuck seeing the same faces that annoyed or infuriated him over and over again for years, those faces whom he never wanted to group or partner with and vise versa. That Nim girl however, she was always kind and patient, unlike the others regardless of his constant snarky aggressive attitude, physically breaking into fights with other students, or his efforts to destroy the Hydroponic projects of said student including even that of the professor. How Nim managed to convince her group to let him join during various large group projects remained mind boggling to even those whom she convinced. If anything, at least his uncle Loki taught him how to grow square fruit and veggies, and thus he contributed to group out of pure boredom, when he was not busy stealing melons to make watermelon firecracker bombs.
The Hydroponics Greenhouses supply 100% organic (no GMO ‘s here!) fruits and veggies to Wormwood Academy its self, including a select few other companies and restaurants aboard Wormwood Deep Space. Students are required to work through their two years of Earth Colonies learning how to grow Fruits and veggies through the use of Hydroponics and some (very rare and hard to acquire) uncontaminated soil amongst other Colony preserving lessons. After third year, the class merged into EBS (Earth Biological Study) and involved groundwork in the arctic and jungle regions of “Earth”. Most students at Wormwood Academy (With the exception of Ruga or anyone who grew up at the Denver Colorado base) have never set foot on Earth. Only a select few students are chosen to work in the arctic regions however, where there are well preserved seed vaults and various studies going on.
One part of the Hydroponic Greenhouse supplies oranges, which are extremely rare, and are usually handed out to students during Wormwood’s Birthday Celebration. The Greenhouse also grows a constant crop of Titan Mushrooms for EBS class studies. Since the Mushrooms mostly survive on Radiosynthesis and bad toxins, these lab grown type are not grown on toxins and radiations. These mushrooms are not affected by light, unlike normal mushrooms of which do not use sunlight and shrivel up in it instead. This particular species does just fine in either light or darkness. These particular specimens growing in the greenhouse also, are not radioactive, like the type found on EBS Earth groundwork studies. They’re also quite delicious –according to Ruga, but he could probably stomach anything.
There’s some more history on Wormwood Academy. The more you know, and knowing is half the battle! J.I. JOOOOEEEE!!!
Ruga the Tethican Alien, Nim Piper Fletes, Meteor Watson, and Dergy Derguson (Rothgard), humans, and the story of Galaxy Magnolia belong to me
