Here's the last piece from the Secret of Mana project and it has me doing something I don't like to do often......drawn in an anime style.

Interestingly the idea of the anime style actually originally spawned from western influences. The big eyes are actually directly influenced by Bambi. This is also why if you look at anime a few decades ago the look actually a had much more western traits then it does now.
What did you name them when you played? I named them Goro, Nadia, and Twerp. Needless to say, the way he cons you when you first meet him was enough to make me hate him for a while.
And I died so many times trying to rescue the girl in the forest because I didn't know about those damn cannibals.

Haha, I'm the opposite. I sometimes leave the character-naming screen idle for several minutes before I finally think up the perfect name.
I'm playing through Chrono Cross for the first time, and I'm renaming EVERY character I recruit.
Oddly enough, I have a really difficult time deciding on a name for characters I actually invent.

It's more like trying to find a name I won't go ballistic midway through and change several hundred times.
With video games, the permanence of the name I pick is enforced, so if I regret naming a character something, I just learn to live with it, whereas with something I can change, I go neurotic with indecision, and eventually ditch the whole thing.
