(I liked Wistala's completely different journey. She actually found somewhere to stay put pretty quickly while AuRon never stopped traveling. I'm excited to get the third book and read about what happened to their Bronze brother, the one that got kicked out of the nest.)

Looks interesting so far, should be interesting to see how you depict his hide with its change properties. It's been years since I read the first book but I found the third (and latest one I read) to be my favorite. The coppers nature and will shows quite strong in that book.
Also we need some pics of the maidens (I forget the full name) who guarded the lava dome.
