Came across this fella when in our walkway when I got home from work this evening. He was about 2" diameter with his legs all spread out.
Unsure on what species he is...maybe a hobo, or a regular old barn spider.
He was very aggressive, coming at us with his little front legs all raised up.

Yeah I loved the ones I saw when I was in IRAQ and AFGHANISTAN! Those bastards were huge, and ate everything from gekos to skinks to eachother. They were aggressive as hell and would regularly try to attack the MARINES who were sleeping or something, we would catch them and fight them like chickens haha! OOH-RAH MARINE CORPS *CLAP CLAP* KILL!!! I would send the pictures to my girlfriend and freak her out haha!
Well of course! What MARINE isn't proud enough to capitalize his title in which he earned and the battles in which he has been through to keep this nation safe!? IF THE ARMY AND THE NAVY, EVER LOOKED ON HEAVEN'S SCENES, THEY WILL SEE THE STREETS ARE GUARDED BY UNITED STATES MARINES! It's a Marine thing! Haha! SEMPER FI, DO OR DIE!
Ok!? OK!?!? Our Beloved Corps is more than ok! WE ARE MARINES! WE WIN OUR NATIONS BATTLES!!! We are the few, those chosen few who have heard the sounds of chaos and ran towards them! We are those mighty few, who strike at the face of tyranny! We few, we chosen few, who risk EVERYTHING for nothing more than our homes and our families! Our wives and children, mothers and fathers, sisters and brothers, boyfriends and girlfriends! Only to come home to them and feel the love for what we do for them, oh we few, we honored few, who are Marines! To come home to my mother and brother, my friends and lovers after the times I have been to war, how well it made me feel knowing I was fighting for so much more than a 10% discount at Hot Topic! I was fighting for them! So they could rape and pervert the freedoms they take for granted, never knowing what it truely is to be without it...but we do...we only few, we, These United States Marines.
This is definitely a wolf spider. Tarantulas do not have the prominent eyes that wolf spiders have (as can be seen in this one).
My first instinct was to file this under Geolycosa, but I can't find a good match. Someitmes wolf spiders are tricky to pin down to even a Genus level outside of some obvious exceptions.
