Well... my mom said she was going to buy me a car for my birthday, but only a $600 fixer upper, then she said I had to get a job to get a car, but I know the manager at a Jets Pizza and he set me up with a job doing deliveries, but I needed a car... so it was a sticky situation... then she had a coworker offer us a great deal on my jeep, blue booked it for $5400, bought it for $3500, so my parents said it was a graduation gift, then they turned around and said you need to start paying for it and I was like :/ "really guys..."
So yeah, almost got it paid off but I guess technically they bought it, but im buying it from them
So yeah, almost got it paid off but I guess technically they bought it, but im buying it from them
Oh what the heck what a rip off. That doesn't sound like a good deal haha but at least you got a better car than a 600$ clunker.
Graduation gift huh lol my first mustang was kinda a graduation gift well I got like 900$ in cash so I used it to buy my grandmas car. So I guess my friends and family bought it for me lol
at least its almost paid for I still have a long ways to go :(

I was like that with my 91 even though I had no payments I was all about that car. I really thought I would own it forever couldn't see it being sold. And get its gone. But I couldn't afford to fix it up like I wanted to. Even on the day I was selling it the starter was going bad. But a mechanic owns it now so I know it will live maybe forever just not in my hands lol
I dont know.. those old Suburbans were great workhorses. The new mustangs are nice but I still prefer the classics. Last mustang I drove was the 1999 model, it was ok. I was visiting my aunt and she had just bought it. I ended up driving her bronco tho as I liked the way it felt.
Only car even remotely like this type Ive ever had was a 1985 Dodge Daytona turbo z. It looked very much like this one but was the color of storm clouds, a deep greyish blue:

I traded a Yamaha Snow Mobile for it in 1996. I loved it.
Im currently driving a 2007 Honda Odyssey minivan. Not so sporty or fast but still nice.

Hubby and I are both scuba divers so we needed the room. LOL we tried to take his little 1993 eclipse on a dive trip, poor thing was riding on the axles with all the gear. I certainly would have loved to keep the daytona, but driving that sort of car down the ALCAN highway in winter is a no go. Ill get another one or a Delorean one day.
I totally agree with you that the Hood makes it look cooler. I feel like a race car driver because of that lol
When my mom did see the car she was all about it. My sister wanted a ride somewhere and I was all you can take my car my moms eyes got so big lol ever since then she's like I want a baby blue one haha

Haha! You finally have a car that your Mother would like to drive! (On a side note, it is really neat that your Mum drives a Camaro)! Well, I suppose you can make your Mum jealous by not letting her drive your Mustang!
Your car's hood is really sporty looking, and the overall design of it makes the car look powerful. Mustangs themselves are pretty distinctive looking cars, but the hood on your car puts it head and shoulders above any other car on the road. I am sure your car can easily hold its own against any car out there including the fancy imports such as those BMWs, Mercedes-Benzs, etc.
Judging by the photographs you have put on here with you and your sister I just cannot picture her driving a muscle car! You are cool and are someone who can easily drive any sort of muscle car or truck, but your sister seems like the total opposite of you and someone I would imagine who would not be into muscle cars. Hey, if your sister gets to drive the Camaro, then I would say that is unfair!

My sister is weird she's 19 and wont get her license but get this she wants a eclipse!! Out of all cars but I guess that can't be too weird when I was super young my mom had one. My parents have a Pontiac vibe she can drive but she's got no license and from what I hear she doesn't wanna drive the vibe lol
my mom would never let my sister drive my moms camero or mustang never in a million years!!

Oh man, you are your sister are nothing alike at all! I remember seeing your pictures of you both together in Disneyland, and I reckon the physical differences between you two clearly carry over in so many other areas. Assuming your sister lives in California with your parents, then how does she survive without a driver's license? California is definitely not a state that has much, if any, mass transit options, and not having a car in California makes living there quite tough. Then again, if your sister is in school, then I suppose she can survive without a car.
Well, in light of your Mum having had a Mitsubishi when you girls were younger that would make your sister comfortable with such a car. Then again, with your parents seeming to own so many muscle cars it amazes me that your sister would not be in anyway interested in at least a sedan that is kind of a mix between power and family such as a Dodge Charger. You strike me as someone who would easily hold her own with anyone including guys whereas your sister is someone I can imagine being more of a girl who is very "girly" (which is not a bad thing). Gosh, if your sister managed to get behind the wheel of the Camaro or Mustang, then that really would be worth a picture on here!
If this means anything, you are really cool especially with your being into muscle cars! Also, it does not hurt you have cool teeshirts and are into "Invader Zim!" It really amazes me how sometimes siblings can end up so different even though they have the same upbringing and backgrounds.

She needs a license badly!! My parents live in Newman middle of no where and the next city is turlock which is about a half hour drive. Newman is a very small town so definitely not a lot of jobs. She got lucky with being a yard duty but they just laid her off due to funds. Now she is at home not doing anything!!!
We are definitely not alike in anyway we do though share the same sense of humor which is cool but other than that she's pretty girly.
When I was small I played with hotwheels and micro machines. She had the Barbies and the doll house. That's how different we are lol

Oh man, in light of where you live it utterly amazes and befuddles me on how your sister does not have a license! It is one thing if your sister lived in New York City or Washington, D.C. where it is not uncommon for folks not to have driver's licences or a car, but where you live driving is a necessity. How did your sister get to work? Well, I guess your sister has gotten an involuntary vacation, isn't it?
That is so funny how different you two are! Gosh, I can totally picture you having a Hot Wheels collection! I remember Micro Machines, and those things were cool! Man, you must have been a fun kid growing up with your being into cars and other traditionally "non-girly" things. Did your parents ever try to make you play with so-called girl toys, or were they all right with you playing with cars and those sort of things?
Your sister seems "girly" based upon the pictures you submitted of here with you, and I could never picture her wearing teeshirts like you do. Haha! That is so funny that you mention that she liked to play with doll houses and Barbies because your sister totally looks like someone who would be horrified with toy cars and be only comfortable with girl toys. Did your sister ever want to play with your cars, or was she only into Barbies and those kinds of things?
Well, at least you both share the same kind of humor. Also, at least you both like Disneyland, too! Despite you two being so different it is great that you both have some commonalities.

She has gone like oh I dunno three or four times to get her permit and somehow failed every time. I'm guessing she isn't meant to drive lol She was working at a Jr. High which is a five minute walk from the house which isn't bad at all since she pretty much walks everywhere.
I have a box full of them and I do have some on my wall as well. All of them are unopened too. I have been collecting them since i was maybe 10 or so. Lately I have been trying to just buy Mustangs but every once in a while something will catch my eye and I'm like YEP gotta have that!!
My sister did play with me all the time. We had a rug that had houses and roads on it so we would take turns picking hotwheels and drove them around on the little roads lol I remember my first choice would always be the purple Lamborghini lol she even played micro machines with me too sometimes.
I guess you could say we got a long most of the time lol

Haha! That is actually funny how your sister did not pass her driver's examination! Did you pass your driver's test on the first try? I reckon your sister is probably a person who needs to be chauffered around, and hopefully she will marry someone wealthy!
That is good that her workplace is not too far from your house and that she walks to where she goes. In all honesty, I would much prefer to walk or ride a bicycle because that would be a good way to get exercise. Is your sister a teacher?
I can totally picture you having a lot of toy cars! Which do you prefer: Hot Wheels or Matchbox? Now I could not imagine you wanting to collect toy Mustangs!
I know the type of rug to which you are referring, and I have seen those things on sale at Sears & Roebuck and The Home Depot. Actually, those rugs are great for younger kids and can help a lot with their imagination. I would much rather see a kid play with toy cars than sit in front of an X-Box or Playstation all day. That is really surprising to me that your sister would like to play with toy cars! Then again, I am sure you both probably do have a lot in common though on the surface you both look quite different. That is good that you and your sister did get along growing up because sometimes when sisters get into fights those events can be downright vicious and put anything that brothers do to one another to shame. I hope that I do not sound rude by asking this, but is your sister a fur, too?
I remember Micro Machines, and I vaguely remember the old Micro Machine commercials in which there would be this fellow who would talk very fast detailing all the different Micro Machines that were out there in a thirty second commercial slot. I still see Matchbox and Hot Wheels around, but I do not see Micro Machines. Are Micro Machines still being made?
Man, I could actually picture you driving a purple Lamborghini! I always thought it was funny how Chrysler owned Lamborghini for a time, and I think the Dodge Inteprid/Chrysler Concorde cars were inspired by Lamborghini designs. Well, I think your Mustangs are just as cool as a Lamborghini without having the outrageous price tag.

I failed the first time when I took the written but I passed the driving part okay. I felt a little ripped off though, they were closing in 15 minutes so I just rushed through the whole thing kinda lame and of course I cried lol
Nah shes only 19 she is a yard duty but they laid her off so now she sits at home all day or hangs out with her boyfriend. I don't see her going to far in life she won't sign up for school and isn't reaching out for a job or license so I don't know what her deal is.
That is a very easy question Hot Wheels were the only cars I had and collect. For some reason Matchbox just didn't appeal to me. Yeah lately I have been buying newer mustang models but I do mix it up just a lot of them are recreations of ones I already have just newer packaging maybe a different paint job. Still awesome though.
We got our rug at Home Depot lolol but we played cars soo much even with the Micro Machines I had like five different play sets and I would set them all up in a row make a city out of it. Oh we did fight a lot one time she gave me a bloody nose and I ended up shaving her eyebrow off we fought a lot mostly when we were small. Definitely not a fur.
I think micro machines are gone :( I don't ever see them but I do remember the fast talking guy on the commercials they had lol

Wow, written tests in your State must be really hard! At least here in Illinois if one takes driver's education in high school and gets a "B" or higher, then they are usually exempted from the written test and only have to take the road test. That is pretty shady that the folks at the DMV rushed you, and they should have given you your fair share of time. At least here in Illinois they cut off road and written tests thirty minutes prior to closing so that people are not rushed.
Gosh, that is amazing that your parents allow your sister to not work and hang out around home. Especially with her not going to school and not working I agree with your assessment about her unless she is lucky enough to marry a rich man.
I see your point about Matchbox, and Hot Wheels seemed to be a lot better to me as well. Hot Wheels seemed to have a great variety of vehicles, and I feel that Hot Wheels are better built than Matchbox. Also, I have noticed that Matchboxes are more expensive than Hot Wheels which is another turn off about them.
Oh, I remember those Hot Wheel playsets! It was neat how those things could be linked up together to make a big city! I especially like the car wash playset.
Boy, you girls sure were vicious to one another! How did you manage to shave off your sister's eyebrow? I remember there were two sisters who lived next to me growing up, and those two could probably outdo any set of brothers with the kind of fights they had!
You are right, and I believe Micro Machines are gone. I wonder why they stopped making them?

Heck yeah it was hard I took it in California and you have to answer all 50 questions and can only miss 7 :( Even if we did take drivers ed we still had to do the written and we also had to do the student driver thing which sucked too. Since I moved to Oregon I went to get my Oregon license and it was so much easier you only had to answer 28 correct and it would stop you when you reached your limit and it was done on a computer!! I finished that test so quick it was amazing.
My parents don't like her living there because she doesn't do anything I think pretty soon they are gonna make her go look for a job or something. I was just talking to my mom about that and shes sick of her not helping
Hot Wheels are way better everything you said is true!!! Better variety and more durable and cheap lol
the playsets were the best I wish I was still little lol I had like six of them linked up probably the coolest thing ever. I kinda think they stopped making them because, okay I'm gonna guess here, some kid choked on a micro machine and they parent sued? lol nah I dunno.
The whole eyebrow thing lol I did it when she was asleep and no one said anything for a few days so I brought it up during dinner and I was grounded for a few days

I have noticed that California and New York State both have ridiculously hard driver's tests which kind of surprised me considering the number of drivers in both places. One would think that DMVs in both states would be extremely busy places, and especially with the budget problems in California I would think that high school kids who score a "B" or better on their driver's education classes should be exempted from doing the written and road tests. At least here in Illinois when I did driver's education one would get a "blue card" if one had gotten a "B" or better in driver's education pretty much exempting one from the written and road tests which was good for everyone. After all, driver's education was a semester long class, and it would be redundant to make kids do another test. I am shocked that California of all states does not have a computerized driver's test because I always imagined California as being a very advanced State. I think in Illinois if one has a license from another state and there is some reciprocal agreement that a person does not have to go through the problem of taking driver's tests and those kinds of things. It amazes me how strict some states are when it comes to licenses though perhaps in California there is some unique geography that might require additional training that we in the flatlands do not encounter.
Yeah, I can see how your parents are loosing their patience with your sister. Hopefully, your sister can be like you and do something soon. I give you credit for taking the big step of leaving home and going to a totally different state far from where you had grown up. No question you and your sister are quite different in many different ways.
You know, I was casually taking a look at the toy aisle in a store in my area, and Hot Wheels do have a really wide variety of cars as well as playsets. Matchbox seems like it is a very poor competitor by far in terms of the cars it offers as well as the kinds of playsets it has. It seems like the detail on Hot Wheel cars are a lot better than its Matchbox counterpart. The Hot Wheel playsets are great, and it is neat how one can really put together a pretty big city with them.
Now that you mention it, I vaguely remember a lawsuit happening about a kid choking on a Micro Machine. I will admit that those Micro Machines were really small, and those were probably too dangerous to have around really young kids.
Wow, are you serious that no one noticed your sister's eyebrow missing for a couple of days? Gosh, that would have been one awkward dinner when you had brought up your sister's eyebrow! Did your sister ever get you back for doing that to her eyebrow?

I'll be saving up for something around this line myself once I find a job. Going to spring for the 2005-2009 range, since that's the newer body style, which I luff!
I was going to buy new, and then figured used is just as good for a lot less cheap. Even a GT used is cheap as chips in comparison to new! That, and insurance is still going to be killer. So hey, if I can save money, all the better. :p
Awesome, awesome ride. Beats the snot out of my 06 Cobalt. x3

Yeah its so much cheaper used mine was around $20 and it only had 36,000 miles which was great my other mustang was about to hit 100,000 so I wanted to get rid of it before problems started.
But even if you got a 05 you can pick them up for $13 the cheapest and insurance isn't even that bad.. I only pay about 75 a month through Geico. and thats full coverage.
And its well worth it too. I love everything about it the sound system is great it rides smooth even the gas mileage isn't bad If it's something you really want you should just go out and get one!!!

Hah, that's pretty much how I am! I've wanted a Mustang since I was barely a kid, and if I get this job, I can easily save for a year or so and snag one up. My Mom even said she's all for the idea, and to get my "toys" out of the way before I decide to move out or buy an apartment/house. And I think that's really cool, she's at least trusting me enough to buy and own a sports car. :p
Although, I do plan on getting a GT if I can find one. For some reason, the sheer sound it makes and the leather really seals the deal for me. I am a pure sucker for leather seats. Leather anything. @_@

Lol yeah I got that leather in my car its nice and super comfy and the seats warm up!!! Its good your mom is up for it my dad was up for it he cosigned for me made payments much easier for me.
yeah I wanted one since I was little my grandparents had a 91 5.0 and I wanted that car so bad finally got it when I was 18 I've had had nothing but mustangs since then lol

Hehe, awesome. :3 I want to try and get this by myself. Mom is for it, but I'd rather just save the 15k and buy it in cash. 2 years of saving, maybe less if I can find a good deal or even just sell some stuff on the side! I actually start work tomorrow. So it's gonna be a fun year or two ahead. :p
Oh yay let the savings begin!! Yeah that's awesome your doing it on your own I needed the help though they were asking over four hundred a month with out my dads help like sorry there's no way I can afford maybe if I still lived at home but I got lots of bills and whatnot. So what color do you want?
Hehe, I just got employed. I figure I'll clear 850-900 a pay, put away 500 each for a 1k a month savings thingy. 10k is 10 months. c:
Color? I dunno, I've always liked just a plain black. Red isn't my fancy, and I'm not too huge on yellow or anything like that. Black I find just looks good in anything, and it really looks nice in the sun. I know you'll often find tiny things like nicks and such with black much easier, but I think the mantience would be worth it. But heck, I'll get what I can find for 15k. :p
