Wherever there are hooman beings, there's "coolness"...
We dumb apes fucked up things when we said "THIS MINE!" ¬¬
No matter if it's facism, captalism, comunism or that other social/economical system that you can own things like in captalism, but you have to stop getting rich once you achieved a 'goal' determined by the rulers.
KILL ALL HUMANS!

actually yeah, nazism isnt as bad as everyone makes it out to be. its all about glorifying heritage, its misticysm and having a well working society with compatible, like-like people living together. neo nazi boneheads just twist it all up and turn it into some eastern immigrant stomping fest.
in before shitstorm and people calling me a bald hitler worshipper. i'm quite hairy, thanks

When gov't sanctioned health care and education tells you condoms fail muchly, that's also not curing AIDS. When 90%+ of all cases of bankruptcy stem from a medical emergency, that's not helping. When people have to call 911 while waiting 12 hours in an emergency room, AIDS can take a backseat.
And you think that these sorts of problems don't arise in socialized healthcare systems?
Government-sanctioned sex education (those four words combined in that way already spells bad news, if you ask me) neglecting condoms or arguing that they "fail muchly" is the result of the religious socialist institution present in this country. The opposite of this ideal, of course, would be to neglect mentioning that condoms are not fool-proof and cannot provide complete protection--and mentioning that if you get pregnant, then who cares, because you can just go get an abortion! Both solutions are irrational and based on two factions' ideologies, rather than fact.
Medical bankruptcy in the USA is due to high medical costs, which are in turn due to both the increasingly socialist medical policies (price limits, anyone?) present in US medical care and the decidedly socialist policies of other nations. US Citizens are forced to make up for the losses that pharmaceutical companies make overseas (since they do have to turn a profit), as well as pretty much single-handedly funding their R&D programs. If the entire world adopts socialized medical policies, medical innovation will become strictly a thing of a past, in which case AIDS really CAN take a backseat, as you put it, since pharmaceutical corporations will lack the funds necessary to conduct research for it in any timely manner.
Your final point is perhaps the most ignorable of the three, considering that while in the USA people may have to wait for hours, there have been situations in nations with socialized medicine (Canada, et al.) where patients have had to wait months to receive important surgeries--including people who technically have the money to get them done immediately, but can't due to fiercely egalitarian laws currently on the books that restrict them from seeking private medicine. (I suppose the spirit behind such laws is, "If I can't have it, then no one else can, either!")
So yeah, I guess AIDS has no choice but to take a backseat, since there's no room in socialized medicine for the search for a cure.

Religious socialism? Bad. Religious democracy? Bad. Religion in anything will automatically make it bad. That's a given. Democracy can be done wrong as easily and maybe more easily than socialism can.
Medical bankruptcy is due to price gouging in socialist business, not socialist government. Corporate handshaking all around yields those ever growing CEO paychecks. Forcing a doctor to ask an accountant for the OK to perform operations maximizes those profits for all involved. That's why people call 911 when they are bleeding to death in the ER lounge. That's why ER patients are dumped out on the street in front of gov't (under)funded clinics with a bare minimum of care. Hospitals are a place of business before they are a place of healing. Disbarred doctors can run hospitals. I happen to know one. I also know where he lives. Lots of money involved in that doctor with no license.
Medical innovation? Like making a pill and THEN naming a disease or 'syndrome' it cures. Yeah, my restless leg syndrome really needs a few billion dollars in research and a hundred dollars a pill to cure. Pharmaceuticals in the US throw money around left and right in buying off doctors. On the other hand, companies in medically socialist countries will spend 10-20 years on research to produce something that works and doesn't cause cancer or heart failure or some other problem that may be more fatal than what you already have. Then you've got Cuba, that went so far as to quarantine people with AIDS. What's the easiest way to stop AIDS? Stop the people with AIDS from contacting people without it. Then you've got the other side of the chemical industry that gets gov't welfare to produce toxins as quickly as possible and causes most of the modern maladies we have today.
There's a lot of socialized medicine in developed nations and they tend to have as high or higher life spans than the US. There's also the bad and that's ranking homeopathy as a medical procedure in Britain. Big waste of tax dollars. No money for AIDS when we have to worry about dishing out tap water in homeopathy.

I thought high medical expenses were due to malpractice insurance. You'd think that if socialized healthcare actually existed in any "threatening" form in this country, that instead of RAISING costs of medical expenses, they'd try to LOWER them to compete? They wouldn't have to do that, though, if people didn't really have a choice. Actually, not having a choice seems to be what ends up leading to higher costs in the free market, so what's going on here :V
well i dont live in the US and that kind of stuff happens here and ive experienced similar treatment, so yeah
and condoms dont fail as often as you are led to believe, all that anti condom propaganda is mostly done by extreme christian groups that want to scare people off sex by any means necessary
also, aids is funny

Socialized healthcare is not "working" healthcare. It's healthcare waiting to fail remarkably.
That, and I'd rather live in a country with healthcare problems than live in a dictatorship where individuals are robbed of their freedoms. And no, the USA isn't quite at the level of dictatorship yet (although if the behaviors of both the left and right wings in this country continue in their current trends, we'll be there eventually).

have you seen the documentary "The Corporation"? it is pretty fucking awesome you should see it
(ps no one in america revolts because as a society we're seeing altruism as a defect instead of as an ideal because of our current deification of social conservatism/EVERYONE PULL YOURSELF UP BY YOUR BOOTSTRAPS/I've got mine fuck you poor people attitude)
(also yes I'm a filthy fucking liberal UU hippie ugh)

Wait, what? Do you honestly believe that the average American despises altruism? The opposite is true, considering that both sides of our political spectrum promote a mindless mantra of self-sacrifice. You're only deluding yourself if you think otherwise, as the social conservatism you're citing is just as distasteful and socialist as the current ideology of the left-wing.
Personally, I don't have an issue with altruism per se; while I find it to be both a cop-out and ultimately useless, if someone would like to devote their time and money to it, I don't see why I should stand in their way. My problem comes in when people try to force people to be altruistic, especially via law. That, to me, along with all other forms of coercion, violate the individual's moral right to his or her own life, property, and pursuit of happiness.

People here are either too stupid, or too logcial anymore.
I could make a long winded rant on my personal opinion, but it is in the same direction of yours so I'll try to keep this short.
The result of the stupid is obvious. The people who have a clear view of what's going on basically know they can't logically effect anything, which may be considered 'lazy' or they just feel things are 'good enough'. Educate yourself, live as happy as you can otherwise and remember, it could be North Korea. :D

yeah, way to stick it to those baby eating manipulative american corporate bastards for being so corporationy!
This is so truthful there's no way this could be typical biased anti-american prejiduce. No way, no how!
And way to stick to your own opinions! You must have watched well over 20 documentaries to get this opinion! And we all know that documentaries are nothing but pure truth made by directors who never see a return on profit.
... -.-

These comments fucking suck in their pointless ranting. America is becoming a decrepit apathetic police state and nobody gives a shit. The citizens, when given the topic will cry out for action - that is, until HEROES comes back after a commercial break, then their priorities are back in order. Only when the economy collapses or gives way to China will action be taken to change.
And what have you done? I mean, I can agree that between both sides of our political spectrum, we're on a fast track to Hades, but to just sit there, complaining, without submitting any answers to these problems seems just as ineffective as being ignorant. And, to be honest, the only way we're going to get ourselves out of this hole is if we start convincing people to take up radically individualist philosophies, while opposing any and all collectivist ideologies on an intellectual basis. Then, the majority will finally understand why it's necessary to annul so much of the unnecessary legislation and governmental structures we currently have.
But first, the ascetic altruism and extremist egalitarianism (alliteration unintended) of the right and left, respectively, must be defeated and proven logically invalid.

There's not much I can do as a Canadian citizen in the matter. Here's a solution to the problem: Communication. Reach out to the public at large whether it be through socializing with colleagues or tagging a statement on the wall of a building. The power of language has no bounds. Western culture is becoming more and more isolationist in the individual sense (via technology or how one's raised into society). More political discussion like this helps, it's the honest way to drive change in democracy. I've worked with politics before as a token of my support for what I believe in, but that really has no point in going into depth with.
No, it wouldn't be, because it's just another baseless, cliched attack on American individualism which pushes forward the same obsolete Judeo-Christian morality of selflessness that's plagued the West for millenia--the irony being that it also takes a rather senseless potshot at how religious many Americans tend to be, fully demonstrating that said morality has become completely secularized at this point, thanks to philosophical goons such as Kant and Kierkegaard.
I agree, though, that it did spawn a bunch of morons blathering on about how brilliant it is. It shows how degraded the modern sense of taste has become.

Yeah, I agree. We Americans should listen to a Stalinist from the same country that spawned such marvels as Abba and universalized welfare.
Just kidding, Sweden's a pretty neat country. You, however, are a misguided child who tries to feel special by espousing a mongrel philosophy, yet you have no idea about the sorts of injustice and tyranny you're sponsoring in the process.
My country has enough problems without yet another collectivist chiming in and trying to convince my countrymen of the most monstrous philosophy in existence. Please don't proselytize to us.

Is it an accident that your christ is vaguely reminiscent of Ronald McDonald?
Anyway, well said. Between the superstitionist asshats in this country who think they're getting a free ride out of the mess they've created by their version of the tooth fairy, and the asshats for whom the psychopathic corporate entity is a role model... well said.
And I'm all for the cross being planted in my home state (apparently. Ohio.)
Were I pretending to find any fault with this, it'd only be that pigs everywhere are insulted.

Well truthally there are two options. Do a revolution and risking losing all our freedoms to communism(im a socialist myself) or whatever new form of government or move, and seeing as how money is now getting tight moving maybe less then optional and since there are two many blindsighted americans to really start anything, I do believe were shit out of luck on either.
