It's good to deal with things, but just try to remember the good times, the good memories. They're never really gone once they touch your heart. Their life was as good as it was because you were in it. Companions are family, it'll feel grey for a while... Just don't let it drag you down. Stay positive <3 They would want you to be happy.
I've lost pets before, and every time the aftermath is different. This time was especially hard because I wasn't around while his health deteriorated, and my family had to make the hard decision without me there. I never got a chance to say my goodbyes to him, and I think that's what tears me up the most.
