it's from the zuraki tribe (i think?) which is a group of dinosaur aliens covered in feathers that you can do sort of a sidequest for to get a cool hat.

Did you find the tutorial as frustrating as I'm finding it?

i don't remember much of the tutorial. i recall panicking franticly when i had to go out of the airlock and spacewalk. that was before i realized wraiths don't need to worry about that, because a lack of atmosphere doesn't affect them.

but tutorials aren't really meant to be fun or super easy. they're meant to teach you the basics of gameplay so you don't run around asking questions to stuff you should know already :B

I suppose they're probably not the best place to experiment, too. I spent a good amount of time trying to figure out which command would let me take my gun apart.

i don't know if you can take them apart :O but then i play smuggler, so my knowledge is basicly restricted to that class.

it's antiquated, generally MUDing stopped in the 90s for the large part.

MUD stands for Multi User Dungeon. it's a text-based RPG, usually coded to run off of pre-existing tabletop RPG rules and math.
