I do recall something quite similar to this in Robin hood: Men in tights. Or the three Musketeers. Can't recall which.

The scene plays out in which the swordsman has his sword broken with a swing, but then deploys a try-prong method much like this upon his weapon.

i used to have a custom made punch glove similar to this, lost it in the wreck i had several years ago, blades snapped off it on impact with the dashboard
