Imagine that famous cartoon characters had an artist's studio they went to for proper portrait renditions and you get the idea of this series (more to come).
This was made last year and is collecting dust. It's still a 'work in progress', but so far I like the results. Kind of artsy-fartsy, hence the studio-portrait style.
36"x24" pastel chalk/charcoal on newsprint.

Many thanks! I haven't posted anything in a long while and thought it was time to, even a WIP. Donald is coming soon :D (no dirty thoughts now)
Thank you for the compliments. This was done pretty quickly by memory but I got busy and left it alone for months and months :/

Hah yes Daffy totally loves moments like these to ham up on the spotlight. He'd probably let you work on him all day except he'd complain about a cramp or something and tell you to hurry up. X3
I would have several debates with my bf on Daffy. I love Daffy, but he hates him. We would especially talk about the Looney Tunes Show and discuss the merits of this character. I admit, I have trouble defending Daffy, when he does a lot of horrible things to people, particularly Porky. I think with Daffy is he never learns anything from his mistakes and usually expects people to fix the problems for him. I feel bad for him at times, while my bf does not pity him at all because he says he's a "despicable character with no redeeming qualities"
I admit when I try to model my duck OC, Aodhan, off of Daffy, I tend to give my character a bit more humanity and compassion. Daffy is great as a comical foil, but even I admit it would be hard to be friends with the self absorbed mallard. Though I still have quite a thing for him too, because he has a certain stage presence about him I like

I like your very intelligent thoughts about Daffy. Good characters will last and give a certain depth which lends their audience something tangible and realistic to enjoy, even if it's an adverse quality. I like to think that Daff is just good at playing the a-hole with a heart (as small as it might be), which is pretty rare in cartoons. Either it's goody-two-shoes or evil bad-guy.
Oh thnx X3 He is a very good character because he is neither a goody goody or evil. He actual inhibits a personality much like people in society that feel the need to blame others rather that recognizing their own faults. And yet it's what compels me to have feelings for him, because there are times i see him try, and it's not like Bugs that have a natural charisma and success. Daffy does make me want to understand him a bit more on how he thinks |3
