My boyfriend took me for a drive up to Big White here in Kelowna just for something to do. It just happened to be midnight, and it happened to be an eclipse. It inspired me into wanting to copy that image. I didn't do it that accurately, but I like how it turned out. I need more practice with scenery and such, so I feel this was successfull in doing that.
I did it in colored pencil, would look great in watercolor but unfortunately I have no place to paint right now. No room where I live to let something dry

This one actually reminded me of the drive between socal and norcal. There's one place on the route where, if you were driving through at the right time of day, at the right time of year, the sun would hit the clouds just right to only let through purple light. All of the grass, all of the hills, all of the scenery picked up different shades of violet in the twilight hours. It was one of those singularly beautiful experiences that I'll remember all the way to my grave.
