I rescued this friendly tarantula from the middle of the road before someone ran over her.
As a thank you, she climbed up my arm and tried to go right up to my face, to kiss me...I think.. I squinched and stopped her, but afterward wished I'd let her go all the way. It would have made such a cool picture with her on my cheek!

It was really odd. I don't normally like spiders (I got bit by a brown recluse once and almost lost my thumb as a result), but she needed rescuing. I hate seeing tarantulas run over in the road. They are always crossing them in October and November around here. So I stuck my foot out in front of her to try to turn her around but she just crawled up on my foot and headed right up my leg. Then I stuck my hand down and...well you see what she did. I finally stuck my other hand in front of her and when she got on it I took her off the road where she wouldn't get back on it and got her to get off me. She headed off away from the road, so I felt really good about it.
He he....yes...a kiss....
I'm not a spider lover anymore. See what I said to VeloxFox above about being bitten. But tarantulas are a whole different thing. The ones around here won't bite unless you get too rowdy with them. And they don't mind crawling on you at all. So I kinda like them. ;3

Yeeeeah...I'm sure they wanna give you a kiss, just not the kinda kiss you'd like. As a vampire you should know that there's a difference between a kiss and a 'kiss'.
Yeeeeah......I will leave them to their own devices, but if they get near me, I try to shoo them away. If that doesn't work, I try to get them to climb on something to transport them....preferably something with a very long handle. If that don't work, I have to relocate myself.

She looks a wee bit hungry with how small that rump is, or it could be a male where their rumps are rather tiny to begin with XD either way that was a very nice thing you did, too many would simply crush the little critters all for the fact they are 'creepy' when really they are simply misunderstood.
I've always liked tarantulas and the ones around here are very tame in that they won't bite unless you get too messing with them too much. They'll climb up on you without hesitation sometimes, like this one did.
I think its a crying shame the way I've seen people go out of their way to run over them on the road. They're only crossing it because it's in their migration route. So I always try to help them if I can.

It truly is a pity so many do go out of their way to simply kill arachnids, be it from the tarantulas to even the common orb weaver who rarely goes very far from their webs to begin with. I admire arachnids, from scorpions to spiders, and try my damnedest to show people they really not at all as bad as they have been made out to be in novels as well as movies. We arachnid lovers need to stick together and show this world that even the creepies need some proper tlc XD
Isn't she though? Here is another picture of her. http://puppetdog.deviantart.com/gal.....t=120#/d1odpqu
Usually when I meet up with them they seem to have a destination in mind. Or at least want to keep on traveling anyway. I've followed them in the forest for a while to see where they'd go, but they always just kept on truckin till I ran out of patience and went back to doing whatever I was doing before I saw them. =p
Obviously, a couple of these signs are in order:

So many of the smaller ones are dangerous. I got bitten by a brown recluse once. Spent 3 days in the hospital and nearly had to have my thumb amputated. I still have it but it's noticeably smaller than the other due to having had the interior of it carved out cause it was being digested. Then the whole outside skin sloughed off. It was a mess and I missed a month of work till it healed. I still can't feel anything in the tip of it.
Could be. ;3

Yick. Spiders freak me out. Just don't like the look of them really x_x I don't like killing things, even cockroaches I prefer to capture them and let them go outside most times.
For some reason the whole fuzzyness on tarantulas puts me off. Along with their giant.... feelers. x_x

You know tarantulas use their hair as a weapon too? when something scares them they will flick their back rapidly with their hind legs which throws their hair off on their attacker. The hair is sharp and irritating and often distracts or discourages the other from bothering the spider anymore. Interesting huh?
