I was debating on the (questionable) merits of the Japanese Ganguro ( http://lmgtfy.com/?q=ganguro ) style one day when I realized... They kind of look like Raccoons! Silly, inverted raccoons... But raccoons nonetheless. I told my skeptical boyfriend that if anyone could make ganguro look good, it would be a raccoon furry! So I drew this. Interestingly enough, this image has resulted in very few Japanese discussions and about 100 instances of my boyfriend making his interpretation of that exact face at me until I respond by making the same face back.
... It's been an adventure.
Anyways, I'm really only moderately happy with the way this turned out... I'm not entirely sure it's really what I was going for, but I suppose it's cute enough. The accessories were a bitch though! I don't think I've done anything with that kind of detail in a long, long time!
Done with prismacolor markers, pens, and pencils. Minor editing in photoshop.
