Yepp, it is done: a new traditipnal artwork about “Reptile Cynrik” and the current war he’s fighting. Together with his friend an king, Kyle Primor, Reptile is trying to defend his home and the people he loves against the brutal and ruthless Barbarians from Khaldor!
Ok, it’s been some kind of “traditon” that… my TRADITONAL MEDIA ARTWORKS do most of the official storytelling these days.
My DIGITAL MEDIA ARTWORKS usually express quick ideas or serve as character sheets, but this here is my speciality. ^_^
In this scene, we can see that the “wages of war” are not always nice and sweet. Sometimes, you lose a lot more than you think.
I’d love to quote a character from the last episode from “STAR TREK – DEEP SPACE NINE”:
“Isn't it obvious? You may win this war, Commander; but I promise you, when it is over, you will have lost so many ships, so many lives, that your victory will taste as bitter as defeat.”
Enjoy this new artwork! I indeed enjoyed creating it.

You mention how the surrounding scene will not be forgotten even though Reptile is the eye-catcher but I half disagree. Yes Reptile is the main character of the picture because he is Reptile, but honestly I focused more on the background scenery and the imagery it provided for the picture. Great work as always!

Okay, here... this is for you! ^_^ I recall your resoultion from my "Calamity Rising" artwork.

Ow, well... there are some Barbarian bodies around here. Looks, just behind Reptile's left foot... there is one. ^^"
But yes, the Aktesian troops also took heavy casualties.
And why can't we see many more of the Barbarians? Simple answer: this shot was made in their own lines... not behind enemy lines. Reptile has returned to his troops... to THEIR side of the battlefield. He's safe here... but the view isn't very nice, though. :-P

I can understand archers taking out a number of people within your own lines, but if so many of them died, would there not have had to have been someone within the lines to kill them? I personally feel there should maybe be more barbarians lying around, unless these are the survivors and the barbarians won.
Ein sowohl atmosphärisch wie auch farblich sehr gelungenes Bild. Muss ne harte Schlacht geswesen sein.
Ich stell mir grad das Stöhnen der Verwundeten vor, und auch das schon die Geier am Himmel kreisen lässt erahnen das der Platz von Blut- und Leichen-Geruch erfüllt ist.
Reppy is natürlich mal wieder pures Eye-Candy, und seine Verwundungen, die Bandagen und die zerfetzte Rüstung machen einen sehr männlichen Eindruck.
Ich lass dem verwundeten Krieger in meinem Privat-Zelt später meine ganze Aufmerksamkeit zukommen, und werd mich ganz ihm widmen, die ganze Nacht bis zum frühen Morgen

Um ehrlich zu sein, ich war zunächst am rätseln obs Geier oder Krähen sind, aber bei nährem Hinsehen erkennt man schon Umrisse, die einem, zumindest ansatzweise Anatomie-kundigem wie mir, Aufschluss darüber geben das es Geier sind^^'
Und ich meinte damit nur, Krieger wie Reppy es sind, die solche Verletzungen wegstecken können und sich dazu noch selbst verarzten, wirken auf mich immer männlich, tapfer und draufgängerisch. Hab halt was übrig für solche Kerls

großartig! Das ist echt ein tolles bild uns stellt die Verzeiflung und Grausamkeit des Krieges sehr gut da.

Nun ja,es ist doch sauschwer, ein Anti-Kriegs Bild zu zeichnen, wo Fantasy ja oft und gerne mit Kampf zu tun hat. Ich hab kein Problem danit, wollte aber auch mal "nebenbei" zeigen, was eigentlich die Ergebnisse des Krieges sind. Es gibt nur Verlierer am Ende... immer.
Wenigstens hat Reptile überlebt, sonst wäre das Bild wohl nur trostlos und Müll! XD

Ja du hast verdammt Recht... Krieg bringt nur Leid und Kummer. Mit Fantasy verbinde ich gottseidank nicht den Kampf.
Ich denke es wird aber immer Krieg auf der Welt geben. Irgendwann versucht immer jemand die Herrschaft über alle anderen
zu erringen. Ist ziemlich traurig das ganze und der Mensch lernt aber auch nicht dazu... na gut manchmal hatten sie keine Wahl.

In my stories, good and evil isn't usually "black and white", either! I've been writing stories and drawing comics for 16 years now... all about REPTILE! And imagine: even Xevon, the former "good" king of AKTES has a terrible past... he was known as the "Butcher of Aktes", who slew hundrets of Reptilians and loved it! But when Reptile saved his life, he slowly came to his senses.
Many characters have two sides or are at least some "shades of grey".
But the barbarians are my FIRST really "evil" enemy.
And well, they don't care for power or anything like it... they just want to raid the places and become rich.
