Very true to life. One of my pet peeves about cowboy movies is that in most of them, everyone is so clean. As a high desert rancher, I assure you that it ain't that way IRL!

Did I ever tell you my Dad grew up as a Cowboy on a cattle ranch in Wyoming? He pulled no punches in telling us about how "Unglamorous" the life of a rancher could get.

Far out! Have you ever taken a look at the insides of a swather/bailer combine? It cuts the hay, gathers it into a windrow, picks it up, loads it onto a conveyor, and bales it. The number of moving parts is amazing!

I used to not like drawing them, but now I have a bit more respect for them. A certain fellow with a love for Canadian rail got me interested in them by his "Frasier" character.

Oh yes. I hadn't thought of that. I gotta read your stories sooner or later as I'm curious if there would be anything like steam locomotives from the late 19th Century in there or perhaps steam powered agricultural machines. The image of the "Sisters" and their human friend visiting a world's Fair and touring the Hall of Machinery kind of popped into my head. Especially all of them looking up in wonder at the giant, three story tall "Corless" engine featured at the 1889 New York World's Fair.

There are trains. I try and keep things as real as possible, including figuring out the extent of railroad construction at the time I am writing that month's journal.
