Ok, so this new style Im trying out still has plenty of kinks. For example, I spent A-G-E-S on this image, despite it being not exactly the most visually exciting image ever. This was more an experiment in terms of what works and what doesnt with this style. The main problem I had was with the size of the thing. 30 by 40 Inches at 300dpi is nightmarish, especially when you have to make every single brush-stroke yourself. Also the pencil sketch I was working on wasnt that good to begin with. Case in point, the craptastic hand wings. Technically theres still plenty I could do on this image, but frankly Im done, time to move on. In future methinks more work on the sketches with composition etc, smaller sizes which can be blown up at a later date, and also doing a better job on the clunky black inking. Until next time kids.
