Wow, curious..Damn...that looks like it would be loads of fun. What did you use to build your models with? And how long did it take you? Honestly that looks very cool.

I buld them out of Merkur. I worked on them very sporadically, so it's really hard to tell.

I recently dismantled all three models here, as I am building a floor lamp out of the parts. I will post pictures of that when it is complete.

Not really. As I said this was at an art show, so a background wasn't an option.

I mean like when you build something like this at home, have you ever thought about a background, or adding one via art program...that's what i meant.

Well I have no real graphics program I can work with (I'm an author, mostly), and what better "Background" for a floor lamp than placing it in a house?

Unfortunately, the Ferris Wheel was one of the first things I dismantled. :-/ It had a LOT of parts I needed. With luck, I'll get more

Aww that's a shame, it really is. I hope you'll be able to build that again, or something like it. Hell... maybe even I could put a nice scenary with it, if i had a good piccie of it. [Maybe..dunno if i'm That good. ]

When I rebuild it, I'll use an entirely different design. This one sucked, to be honest.

Really? I didn't think it sucked That bad..hell i didn't think it sucked at all.. But then again that is my opinion ^^

I'd very much like to see it when it's rebuilt though. ^__^

The new model will have several changes.

1) Instead of seats, it will have gondolas.
2) Instead of towers, I'll use different ways to support it.
3) The hub desperately needs a redesign (The axel sagged something awful).
4) The entire wheel will be parallel to the base, rather than crossways.
5) It will be powered by a Merkur motor (probably a steam engine) rather than what it's powered by now.
6) It will also be easier to dismantle into sections for transport.
7) It will probably be less ornate than this one.

And who knows? It may be a larger model than this one.
