I think some of them are tweeked to his specifications and at least a couple (though the series) are pretty specific, but a White Russian's a White Russian, you know?

I think that the exact ratios are his, but the recipe is similar (involving cola rather than root beer) on several recipe/bar tending sites. I don't know where it originated.

I was baffled, too! But yeah, it's called that for some reason.
The galliano is flavoured with the herbs and spices that are associated with the flavour of root beer, so I think it's sort of the combination of that and the cola that makes for the root beer aspect.

My actual favorite root beer float recipe: One shot butterscotch schnapps, one shot irish whiskey, two shots baileys, fill rest of pint with ice cream and root beer. :3
