Okay, not quite a lens. My dad recently got his hands on a couple of older-model projectors, the big ones for big events. We were looking over them, and I happened to look inside one that didn't have its lens installed, and this little rainbow is what I saw at the end. I would imagine it's from a combination of mirrors and prisms that the machine uses, but I don't really know the precise mechanics in this circumstance. I just had to get a picture of it. I mean… it's hard to explain why, but it just strikes a chord with me. And it's pretty. I'm actually amazed at how well this picture turned out.

Truly a fascinating photograph. If you strip it for parts, what are you going to use the components of this refracting section for? To me, I think it'd be kind of awesome to make some form of prismatic light display for a room by augmenting the light source to do different things. Please take more! It's fascinating.
If they did end up being stripped for parts, I would ask for this piece of the assembly, absolutely. I'd get it mounted and used as a paperweight or something. At this point, we don't know what we'll end up needing to do with them, so they're currently being stored in our warehouse until we have a few days to plug everything in and see how well they work.
