I would think it was an inborn action to ward off predators from the nest so the eggs would be safe. BTW... great shot, not many can get pics of Eagles. *paw bump*. SB.

I thought it resembled something like a dive bluff. It looks like I'll be completely blessed with location. I'll be able to get whatever angle I want so, awesome sunrise and sunset light. There's also a spot where the ground rises a bit and transitions to low bushes and scrub. Perfect location for a blind. Just had a thought... should borrow that 500mm mirror lens I bought last year and then sold to a friend cos I was rather low on cashola. I bought it to fill the gap between the 200mm and the 1200mm scope. I can get absolutely sick close-ups with the scope of course, but it's a little much and isn't the sharpest for focus.

Maybe that's the eagle equivalent of a middle finger?
