This year I've got access to an eagle's nest that's a lot closer to home and which has much better 360 degree view of the nest and great places for blinds. This shot shows a bit of behavior I didn't see with the others last year. In addition to giving me the "Piss Off!" call, this one would do this interesting move where it would appear to basically quit flying and go all loose for a while, flopping upside-down and sideways, then open wings and regain control.

I thought it resembled something like a dive bluff. It looks like I'll be completely blessed with location. I'll be able to get whatever angle I want so, awesome sunrise and sunset light. There's also a spot where the ground rises a bit and transitions to low bushes and scrub. Perfect location for a blind. Just had a thought... should borrow that 500mm mirror lens I bought last year and then sold to a friend cos I was rather low on cashola. I bought it to fill the gap between the 200mm and the 1200mm scope. I can get absolutely sick close-ups with the scope of course, but it's a little much and isn't the sharpest for focus.
