I like the color scheme you picked for this piece, and you did a really good job with the facial expression.
My only critique is that it's very still and static. The pose isn't very dynamic and the overall composition doesn't compel the eye to move very much. The addition of contrasting colors would add impact and create a focal point to catch the eye better.
