Awesome! I remember the last model rocket I built. Fell to the ground like a rock and started the football field on fire. Still got a B+ in the final grade.

The base fire department usually issues a Class A fire estinguisher and training for the week-long course. The launchers are up off the ground as a safety and convenience issue. A few of the rockets have issues, usually motor-related.

Yeah, but you have proffessional stuff there. My launch was part of a 6th grade project using the milimeter thick cardboard and Pitsco rocket motor.

Some of it is store-bought, but much of my equipment is made from second-hand items or built from scratch.

Then you're the best mini-rocket builder I've ever had the pleasure of meeting.

Rocket, that's a sweet looking model ya got there! I see the added fins to stabilize. (The real M-A had gyros) Ya know I had an older friend who worked on that 'escape tower' jettison rocket with the NASA design team. He knew W. Von Braun as a close friend.

I was pretty lucky to be of the age that I remember watching the TV (Black & White TV of course) coverage of Alan Shepard's flight on his Mercury-Redstone. I followed the NASA program from that childhood thru to oh Heck- the shuttle.

It was that NASA program that inspired me to be the tech/ engineer that I are now! ;)
