Was working on my current project a couple nights ago when something reminded me of a pic I've been wanting to do for a long time, a winged black tigress. This popped into my head and I dropped what I was doing and through this down in about 5 minutes then went back about my drawing. She will still have white on her where it would normally be but all orange will also be dark. Stripes will still sort of be seen as a black leopards spots are still visible.
I will correct the mechanics of this later. If she releases the arrow now, she'd lose a tooth and or a piece of her nose pad. ;O
Will go in scraps shortly.

Do you have any books with large birds in it? Or any good references of large bird wings? The basic anatomy of these look very off to me (I could be wrong) but would say look up some good Swma, Hawk, Eagle wings if you want to make tjis realistic! Hope you don;t mind the comments.
I definitely don't mind comments, especially from you, you've been nothing but helpful. This is just a quick concept sketch with no ref used. I killed my last two pieces with wings because of total lack of knowledge of the subject, even with ref photos. I found a good tutorial on wings and it helped greatly and I now understand what I was seeing. I will definitely use photo refs when I do this one. (on deck).
I've been refining the sketch over the last couple weeks, tweaking the pose and and studying wings. I'm posting a more or less completed snow leopard pic this evening and then I'll be working on a cleaned up version of this pic right after. I'm anxious to get on this one. I'd like to have it for AC.
I bow hunt but I have only used old tech compounds so any pointers on the use of traditional long bows would be appreciated. I want to do some rather fancy detailing on the bow, size permitting. It will be about 14" x 21" thanks to the wing span.
I have a rather lengthy bio that I have to go with her or maybe more like a short story. I should be able to post the cleaned up version tomorrow. I'd love to have color on her this weekend. :)
