With the bony plates in their hides they are as close to the real thing. Early explorers even tried to tan the hides and were unable to do so due to those plates. And yes, he probably would try to eat you and thats all it would take to kill you, him to try. There are so many damned poisons in his spit. I saw a show where one brought down a water buffalo, bit its ankle and the dern lizard followed it til the infection killed the buff.

I wish we had a better zoo here. Its not AZA certified so Im kinda reluctant to pay to go in, I prefer them to be part of AZA so I know the animals are getting the care they should be. Our Nearest AZA zoo is 3hrs away. I hope to go to the Memphis Zoo this fall when I go to Mephit Fur Meet.

If I ever make it there I certainly will. When we travel I usually will give all zoos in reach a try atleast once. Last zoo I went to out of state was Zooworld in Pensacola. It was ok tho I did not support them purposefully breeding white tigers.
