This was meant as a gift picture, but since it was not appreciated, it now no longer represents the characters in question. I removed both of their names, but I'm gonna keep the rest of the description:
Now it did take me a while until I came up with a solid idea and even when I did, I felt it wasnt enough. This wasnt supposed to be a run-of-the-mill kinda picture that they already had in their galleries, so I scrapped it and put it on hold until after the pin-up commissions were done.
At some point during this period, I came up with this idea and I thought this would be perfect, to make for a unique and new spin on the depiction of both of their characters. I was really excited when both of them liked the idea and after that, all bets were off, since I had so many ideas to include in that.
Just the background alone did take me a couple of days, since I did create it in 3ds max. Just coming up with a design for that damn space ship there took me forever!
But I had so much fun with this, I think it was worth every second and every revision I had to do, because the final result looks just the way I wanted it to be.
And I hope you do too! :)

Wow thank you so much. :3 And I completely agree. I feel that showing love and compassion without actually showing the characters kissing or even hugging, can be so much more powerful, because it is more relatable. And even though I am not dead set on metaphors and hidden meanings, as some people pointed out, this also works in a "so close, yet so far away" kinda sense. I really noticed that relatable pictures get a much stronger response than any kind of pornographic picture and I am always amazed by how people react when I put up such a picture. I absolutely love seeing this, this really makes me happy. :3

Youre not just any good artist who knows how to draw. Youre also an artist who thinks outside the box when it comes to settings, backgrounds and ideas. Thats what makes those pictures so good and outstanding. They're unique and make someone think about it when he looks at them.

Thanks so much for the kind words, I really feel flattered. :) I guess I'm just a bit quirky when it comes to certain ideas, because I just like to go the extra mile and come up with different concepts, details and ideas, to make people smile and when I see someone notice this, I know that I reached my goal.
