Ink on Paper
This was inspired by an elderly busker with incredible eyebrows we have on one of the main streets in Bristol. He's there most days playing a penny whistle, and he always has his eyes closed; really focussed on what he's doing, in a little world of his own. He strikes me as the sort of person who would be really interesting to talk to, but I don't want to disturb him.
I wanted to try to capture this, although I wanted to give him an accordion, because I think they're fantastic.

I did get the impression you describe (before reading your description). I think it's the little markings around the eyes that carry it - not just that they're closed in absorption, but that they've been closed in absorption many years, and show the traces.
And, accordions, bien sur.
