Well, Todd looked like he was getting a bit into it there near the end. I guess this is the point where I just don't like Todd anymore, sex or no sex notwithstanding. Still think you never did anything to showcase that he'd be okay with doing something like this, so, yeah, his likability factor took a nosedive and I just can't see him the same anymore. Sorry, dude.
And, um, Vladimir! Of course he's a bad kisser at this moment, he's never kissed a guy before and you took him by surprise! How the heck did you expect him to react? For a guy who's supposed to be good at reading people, he dropped the ball on that one. And yeah, Georgiy's certainly very used to seeing his father do this to men on a regular basis. His reactions just seem to say, "Oh, that Father, even in vacation visiting family, he cannot resist."
And hey, nice to see Doug again! And it's pretty funny how the one thing that shocks Georgiy is seeing his father smile, made even funnier by the fact that Vladimir's smile is damn near non-existant, it's just a minuscule speck, but to Georgiy, that's huge. Pretty good scene there.
And considering everything we know of Doug, he's definitely the most likely (besides Jake) to fall into Vladimir's underpants hook, line and sinker. And considering this is Vladimir we're talking about, that's not really a fun prospect to look forward to. Sorry, Vince, you know I've always called it like I see it, and Vladimir here is on the same level as Kevin, Danni and Biff's dad from Class Menagerie. No redeeming qualities whatsoever... okay, okay, his deciding to keep Georgiy instead of leaving him at that lab most definitely counts as his one redeeming quality. Though considering everything we've seen of them and their family dynamic, I wouldn't be surprised if Georgiy, one of the most lovable characters you've ever created, ended up raising himself to be the way he is today, rather than be raised by his dad.

Danni I was pretty sure was psychotic. A raging, sexist hag whose only personality trait was being a violent control freak. I don't remember anything about her except that she'd go psycho for the tiniest thing and would physically assault any and every man, whether they were guilty of something or not, because she never once gave anyone the benefit of the doubt or the slightest chance to prove they didn't do anything bad. I always felt bummed that we never saw her get the crap beat out of her, probably would've happened if she had assaulted a woman, which we never saw, which is why I say she was sexist.
Kevin was the epitome of self-important douchebag. He spent every single waking moment verbally attacking and demeaning anyone who he came across, only because it tickled him and because he had a massive, overblown ego. He always just made me go "why would any person in their right mind want to spend even two minutes in the vicinity of this guy?", to the point that my favorite parts of CM were whenever Brad would beat the living daylights out of Kevin. XD
And Biff's dad, well, I think we can all agree there's no need to even get into why he was bad, as he was pretty much the villain of the comic. I find it so ironic, actually, how I see Vladimir and Biff's dad on the same level, and yet how differently their kids turned out. I believe in CM, Biff showed a couple of times that he did have some good qualities, just hints and shades of good sides of him, and that if he had been raised right, he'd have been a genuinely nice person instead of the person he was in CM, whereas we have Georgiy, who's likeable, lovable and has a great personality and seems to have been that way his entire life.

Indeed. We've not seen her around yet, but if there is someone who can put Vladimir in his place, that would be Sam, and honestly, that would be glorious.
Though who knows if she's still as overprotective or not, since we've seen that, overtime, Doug has matured and can handle himself better in regards to men. Though Vladimir here is all well dressed, maybe that can have something to do wiith any first impression. I doubt the type of men Doug's fallen for and given him trouble in the past had any types like Vladimir here. Plus there are differences between ongoing relationships and one-night-stands, which we've never even heard about when it comes to Doug.
I guess we'll see how it goes, it seems to depend on whether Sam will show up or not. Not to mention how Cody might react at Vladimir now trying to seduce Cody's ex, though Vladimir won't really care either way...

 Well, it's your opinion. You'll notice I never objected to you stating your opinion; it was when I (and OTHERS, I might add) were informed we had "disappointed" someone. No, not saying you personally did.
Well, perhaps Vlad expected more for $300. In all fairness, if Vlad said that wasn't good enough it'd just be ANOTHER round, so maybe Todd shoulda just gotten it over with
I think that's kinda Georgiy's default expression.
We'll see where Doug goes, and for that matter, Vlad. But yeah, it certainly doesn't seem very like-father-like-son.

Well, I'll be honest when I say, at least it's disappointing to me to see Todd doing this, after all the time spent getting attached to him and his personality and values and everything. But well, he's your character, not mine, story goes on and we move on.
And Georgiy's default expression is quite nice. He really does seem to be the most positive, happy-go-lucky guy, which is a very appealing trait, especially with how much it contrasts with his father. And not very like-father-like-son? They're like, complete opposites! I also find it interesting how the only thing so far that has seemed to seriously bum Georgiy out was thinking for a moment that Cody didn't like him. My theory there is he's used to people liking him, so the thought of his own newfound family member disliking him was pretty nerve-wrecking and unbearable. Honestly, the kid's just so snuggable.

I know it's somewhat rude, but my reaction to this is essentially "Wow, who pissed in your cheerios?"
I'm seriously having a hard time trying to understand exactly what you have against Todd or Vlad at the moment. You explain it on a basic level, but I just feel like there's something I'm not getting.
If it's something you'd rather not discuss, of course, feel free to ignore me, I just find my curiosity piqued.

Not much as "who pissed in my Cheerios" as in, you know, there are characters in comics, any type of comics, who readers may end up not liking for whatever reason.
In Todd's case was the fact that I have spent since the beginning of ISO getting attached to Todd as a character, this including his traits. And one of his traits was that he was the straight guy who was okay with having gay friends but would not engage in any gay activities himself. Hence, his being so willing to go back on that just to buy an expensive bottle of alcohol to a girl he just met in hopes of boinking her, it just makes him seem to shallow and desperate. Made me go all "Aww, man, all that time geting attached to this character and he goes and does this?" Again, this is just a difference of opinion, most people seemed to love it.
As for Vladimir, well, he's been shown to be cold, manipulative, a liar, selfish and damn nigh emotionless. Other than his deciding to take his son in and not leave him in that lab, I've seen no redeeming qualities from him, which is not going to make me like him. Oh, and he's probably killed a lot of people too. He's a super spy, after all. XD
Again, it's a simple matter of perspective and opinion. Mine just happen to be that way. It's unfortunate, but well, it happens, and thankfully, it's not the end of the world.

Hum just ONE question.
Do you y'know .. ever like people?
You come very short of calling Todd a two-penny whore , you show open disgust for Vlad who , as far as I'm concerned hasn't commited anything illegal or immoral as far as I'm concerned . He's using what a LOT of people use to flirt their way around. AKA tiny white lies and a smidge of deception to get someone in his pants. Heck! I would probably take classes from the guy.
Then you proceed to call two classic characters a self-loving douchebag and a complete psycho feminazi or something.
And all of this because they don't have the personality of a Disney princess or something!
Which begs the question , why on earth do you even READ this comic?

I do like people and characters. I just don't make it a secret if I don't like someone or soemthing. I'm very honest about my opinions and make it a habit to not kiss any artist's or writer's butt.
Todd just went back back on what we saw of him as a character, so it's jarring for me as a reader to see it after all that time getting to watch him throughout the story and becoming attached to him as a character, I already explained it. Vladimir is just plain not likeable in my eyes, I already mentioned why. And maybe a lot of people use lies and deception to have sex with others, but I don't find that to be a likeable or attractive trait whatsoever. I mean, how many married people use lies and deception as an excuse to get their rocks off and cheat on their significant others? It's just my way of thinking, you don't have to agree with it.
As for the CM characters, well, that's how they were shown to us. Okay, so it was a long time ago that I read this and I'm going just by what I remember, but I just don't remember any time that Kevin was not insulting someone (the only exception being that girl who became his girlfriend for whatever reason). Nor do I remember any time that Dani was not obsessing over having the perfect dorm and angrily beating up any guy who either did something bad or she thought did something bad, not giving anyone the benefit of the doubt. Again, this is just my memory and I may be wrong, but I don't even remember Dani having any important role in any storyline, hence the only character trait I ever saw from her was "control freak who beats men up". To me, CM made up for those by having genuinely good comedy (which is a rarity in comics), an actual timeline that many omic strips lack, and a varied cast that, for the most part was really quite likeable. The lack of porn just helped elevate it over other furry comics, it showed you don't need porn to do a good comic.
And no, characters don't have to act like perfect princes and princesses. Perfect is boring. I like flaws on characters, it shows they're not perfect and gives them depth. Just that there's a line in which a flaw in a likeable character can make him cross the line into unlikable. Happens a lot of the time in any comic. Cyclops from X-Men has crossed that line so many times throughout the last five or six years. XD
As for your last question, well, because I've read just about everything Vince has ever posted online. I read CM from the beginning, then I went along with ISo since nearly the beginning back when Vince was posting it on Livejournal. I've always been this honest with him, and he seems to have never minded (as he stated above). Mind you, while I'm not shy about pointing out things I don't like, I also try my dang hardest to point out every positive I see too, and I've always done that with Vince's works too. Even now I'm pointing out the things I do like in this comic page by page.
So shall we just agree to disagree and move on?

While I had reservations about Todd's willingness to kiss a strange guy, I had no doubts that Todd would be extracted from the situation before any sex occurred. And him being a poor kisser, according to Vlad's standards, at least, is definitely fitting.
I was waiting to see how Sam would react to Cody's new relatives. She's probably mellowed a bit regarding guys Doug likes, but Vlad will still get hell from her.

Like I mentioned above, I believe the only reason Todd did not kiss well in here was because a man was the one who grabbed him and gave him some heavy make-out moment that he did not expect, so he didn't react like Vladimir wanted him to. If it had been a woman who did that to Todd, he'd have kissed her well, I'm pretty sure.
Well, Todd's been shown to like girls but we've never actually seen him interested in a long-term relationship. He seems content with being single and always available for any girl who wants him. And again, we've been given hints that he doesn't really have trouble hooking up with girls. So unless all girls he might be with are shallow and hook up with him just for his looks...
I mean, we just saw him go back on his "not with men" thing, the idea that he might be terrible at something as simple as kissing (which could then be taken as, if he can't even get a kiss right, just imagine how bad the sex might be) would make him look even worse. So, yeah, I think I'll stick with my theory that the only reason he kissed badly was because it was another man who took him by surprise, since we did see he only went for the tiny little peck instead of the full-blown make-out that Vladimir suddenly slammed him with. At least just so Todd can come out of this with a smidge of dignity. lol

Well, the bonus story had him seeming to be more or less officially interested, though the coauthor and I agreed that it would be fun for them but likely not permanent. Then again, I think college freshmen generally are fairly...unwilling to be tied down.
Though I don't deny Todd had little incentive to perform well, I personally think kissing girls vs guys is just different. I doubt Todd would be used to someone so aggressive.

I must say, I disagree on the kiss thing. As someone who's kissed both genders, I can say with at least my personal opinion, there's no difference. A kiss is a kiss, plain and simple. Just like a blowjob's a blowjob. Put a blindfold on a guy and have someone go down on him, mouth only and no hands, I can bet they wouldn't be able to tell if it was a man or a woman, except only if it was a man with noticeable facial hair. XD
So, wait, does this mean you agree, at least to an extent, with those of us who say that Todd kissed badly here because it was a man who aggressively took him by surprise and that things would have been different if it was a woman?
I now get the feeling Sveti might still hook up with Todd for the night after all. I mean, Vladimir called her there to help him seduce Todd (will you ever explain why she was so willing to do that?), only for Vladimir to back down after two kisses. Might as well hook up with Todd so her time won't have been wasted. Unless she's a lesbian and gets the hots for Sam...

Perhaps it's more a matter of "making out" (which admittedly Vlad did request) over just KISS. I won't deny I've not had much experience with girls (yes, I've had some >.>) but I've also been slobbered all over by some guys and I can't even fathom a girl doing that; from what I've heard a girl would react to that kiss the same way I did.
Oh, well yeah! I don't necessarily know if Todd's GREAT at it, but I really doubt he was expecting that.
ROFL! Lesbian action with Sam would be something XD

Vladimir requested making out? I thought he had said just "one kiss". And I have heard of girls who slobber while kissing. I guess even before kissing maybe it's important to talk a bit about it. Some people may like the slobebry type of kiss, some people might not. Heh, even something as simple ass kissing can make or break the mood, but the situation itself has to be taken into account.
And well, Todd's your creation, you can make him be a great kisser or not. Gosh, my overactive imagination can picture you drawng Todd being either one and going "I haaaaaave the poweeeeeeer".
Heh. Glad I gave you an amusing lesbic mental image. I remember Ty never showing any interest in anyone, and it was not till much later you mentioned that he's gay (and I think you mentioned he has a boyfriend too?). And if I'm not mistaken, we never heard of Sam's preferences either, nor she showing any interest in anyone. So the speculations of her sexuality are pretty much open till you confirm anything.

Ok, I guess now Sveti won't ask Todd to have a threesome with that generous gentleman and then slip out of the room once Todd is bound to the bed... ^^;
Geeh, Vlad, of course he doesn't know what do do with his tongue. He was paralyzed from shock! Now if you hadn't tried brute force and moved a bit more slow, :::gives Vlad slow, gentle kiss::: who knows what might have happened...
Oh and don't even think about Doug. You might be a top ex-KGB agent. And you might have asupport agent in the Hangout. But if you try to touch Doug, Sam will kill you. There's nothing you could do about it!
Great work with the faces, Vince. I couldn't stop laughing when I saw Cody's jaw drop and Karl's 'UGH D:'-face. And I love Vlad's "smile" at the end XD
# YAY for more Georgiy! Comic definitely needs more of him ^^

Was there ever a doubt in anyone’s mind that this wasn’t going to happen?
Plus HHAHAHAHAHAHAHa, Todd’s a bad kisser, no wonder he can’t keep a girlfriend.
Good Kissing is one of the most important acts of any good relationship, and if your bad at it…… well… it ante gonna last long.
That’s a Fact.

I like Cody's expression when Vlad kisses Todd; looks hilarious. XD Poor fluffy kitty. Also, nice job Vince. :)
Vlad looks cute when he showed that smile, once Doug appeared. Good to see Doug again; he's a hot cougar.
*pokes Todd's ass* "So, how did you like the kiss Vlad gave ya?" *grins* "I can give ya an extra $100 if ya let me grop your manhood."

Love the three panel facial expression of the spectators ROFL. And I have a comment on Vlad's expectation. Todd is straight.. kissing him torridly for a few seconds won't make him want to kiss you back. So, if Todd was not really into it... his skills (french kissing) won't come out.
*blinks* That's a large smile? My goodness... hehe. Oh shoot! Not Doug! Hope Sam is there to stop whatever Vlad is concocting in his devious mind *gasp*

(Eez oll eye vant, kömrayd.)
meanwhile, todd hasn't yet realized that he has so far interacted with two different people with the same accent.
i wonder how todd's going to feel knowing he'd also locked lips with a ... significantly older gentleman.
who also "eez relations" with his best friend.
i kinda hope that vlad won't get his target (if cody himself couldn't!!)..
..but maybe instead, a Bespectacled Cougar shall make vlad's acquaintance?
(i mean, i do want vlad to bump nasties with someone...)
***
i don't think anyone else mentioned doug x vlad in your 13th installment; i cannot speak for any other previous chapter as i hadn't the time/patience to look..
..but i wouldn't be surprised if one or two others had the same prediction, expressed within the past 4 parts.
obviously it's not guaranteed vladimir will be "lucky" with doug either but..
..maybe vlad shall be just doug's "type"?
at least for a little fling before returning to Rrrosshya?

who also "eez relations" with his best friend.
i kinda hope that vlad won't get his target (if cody himself couldn't!!)..
..but maybe instead, a Bespectacled Cougar shall make vlad's acquaintance?
(i mean, i do want vlad to bump nasties with someone...)
***
i don't think anyone else mentioned doug x vlad in your 13th installment; i cannot speak for any other previous chapter as i hadn't the time/patience to look..
..but i wouldn't be surprised if one or two others had the same prediction, expressed within the past 4 parts.
obviously it's not guaranteed vladimir will be "lucky" with doug either but..
..maybe vlad shall be just doug's "type"?
at least for a little fling before returning to Rrrosshya?
No WONDER I couldn't find it! I did a ctrl-F for "Doug" and when nothing showed up I thought maybe it'd been deleted ^ ^;; Didn't think to scan the whole thread, or that you hadn't said Doug's name XD
So, congrats! I think there might've been one other suggestion early on, but yours was the one to follow my lead-in the best.
We'll see!

i'm starting to develop my powers of ESPN a little better as i get older.
i'm pleased as punch that my spider senses had tingled so accurately, as you've stated.
thank you, vincent.
.
and, yes.
we shall see what happens!
i cannot wait.
i'll be sad when this wraps up in 5 - 6 more parts but it shall've been a fun ride anyways!

"This isn't a cheap beer. You have to let it breathe for awhile!" LAUGH! Love the three face close-ups at the top! Yorsh sounds disgusting but then I don't drink. Vlad setting his sights on Doug= Even more than him and Todd. It'd be nice to see Sam get all up in his face, he might definitely meet his match in her. We'll see!
DAMMIT TIGER YOU LAUGH AT THAT BAT'S LAME JOKE
YOU LAUUUUGGHHH
>:/ Jerk.
yeah, though, a half-assed kiss...that's pretty much all todd is good for. i had pretty much the same thoughts of him reading the comic :3 never had a real high opinion of him.
well, maybe like if you needed a sofa moved

And there we go. :3 You really -are- the master of the bait and switch. NOW things will get interesting. Also, I find it the puns hilarious, particularly with Greigory being so impressed at his fathers big (his version) smile. Also, something I will later point out to folks is, Vlad is PERFECT for Doug, at least in terms of a one-night stand or just flat out sex. First off, if they do hook up, its because that's all each one expects. Sex. Doug is a grown-up, and I'm pretty sure is aware that a night of sex does not equal any emotional involvement. Second, Doug loves being dominated, and he loves guys that act like assholes. It pushes his buttons. That's his preference. Vlad fits this bill perfectly! (And hey, could also have the bonus effect of Doug finally getting some Frost into him ;3, though, definitely not the cold kind, mwa ha ha!). So, I see it as an all around good thing! Pity to learn Todd is a lame kisser though (though, in this cat's opinion, that doesn't matter all that much >3 ). Looking forward with great delight to the next installment!
PFF-BWAHAHAHA! I don't know what's more funny, Cody's face or his Dad's. XD But that's a kiss for ya. I guess lucky for Todd in this case. Hurhurhur X3.
D'aaw, that's a good joke. That darn Tiger. And good one, V. ;-3 XD
LOL, Wow...his face broke. XD Total cute way to bring Doug back and have him fall for him. Hurhurhur, liking where this is going. ^^ This would be most....amusing to see how that goes. ;-3
