A sweet-talking, tough southern mare, Steel Magnolia lives by herself on a ranch owned by her now-deceased pappy and meemaw. The only foal to her parents, her father ran off with another mare, leaving her mother to raise her alone. Unfortunately it turned out to be too much and she was dumped on her grandparents. The truth was never hidden from her, but she never held any ill will towards her parents. Her pappy and meemaw were her family and on their ranch they specialized in raising chickens and ducks, a few dairy cows and fruits and vegetables.
