Why is "apple" an option under mammals for the species thing?

I love characters that just have a basic outline of a design and still allow you some free reign...deer.
I need to do some tweaking, change the septum/remove it, not sure yet, make the circle into a real circle, add some more foliage to the back antler, just some little stuff, and then I'd like to color this, and if at all possible size it down to con badge size, but I don't really know how to do that. (holy run on sentence bat man)
I just really wanted to draw this, I really should be working on trades...gragh. I'll do those tomorrow, I promise! I'll get at least one done!
