Hey, even the hobos need someplace to sleep at night.
This derelict passenger car duo is located not far from that water tower I aim to climb when the current spell of laziness leaves me. Inside there are loads of scrambled empty luggage containers and menus for the missing restaurant car with prices so low I'm pretty sure this thing must've been last used in the 1950s (you know, when filet mignoin for $7.00 was actually expensive).
Not long after snapping this a thunderstorm rolled in and made life miserable. Thank god for the impromptu shelter.

Judging by the area it's in, yeah, it is pretty weird. The railways are all crazy active because it's by the industrial portside of Baltimore city's southeastern district. You'd think the cars would at least be taken off the rails so they could be used like the others for all the shipping and dockwork, but nope - these 2 cars have been here for years, decades even.
Then again, there's enough abandonment on the dockyards to where maybe this should be no surprise at all. Baltimore is just a weird city...

Was using my 12mm f/2.0 for this shot, on my Olympus E-P3 body. Probably shot it at f/8.0 and 50-60 seconds.
The giveaway on the train cars is the British Columbia signage on the upper middle of the cars. One was simple seating (albeit with the seating ripped apart), the other was a restaurant car, with the menus still scattered about. Apparently made a stellar bum camp for a while.
