FFF I'm sorry it sucks so much...I fail at backgrounds on SAI >< and Kopa himself I only spent about 15 minutes sketching and linearting...
I guess this could be seen as a form of vent art...just felt pretty down after having yet another argument with my Ex boyfriend Reminding me once again, WHY we broke up in the first place...dick =w=
Story;
Word of King Simba's passing spread like a wildfire across the savannah as animals from all around, including those from neighbouring prides mourned his loss.
The great King who had saved the land many years prior, had finally lost the battle with an unknown illness.
Prince Kopa was mortified on that day. The last thing he expected to leave old Rafiki's lips as he returned from a date with Vitani, was the words of his fathers passing.
Without further word needed, the young lion dashed into the den only to find the baboons words true. Before him lay his fathers once mighty body; now near skeletal from malnutrition as his heavily greying mane laid like an oversized blanket over his no longer moving ribs...
The King was dead...His dad was dead...
Never again would he hear his soft voice as he told him to stay safe, no more walks through the Pride lands...no more stories...it was all gone.
Eyes lowering some, Kopa sighed as he saw his mother lying over her long time mate. Tears flowing from her eyes as her pride sisters watched unknowing what to say or do as they too cried their grief.
He wanted to stay...wanted to lie by his mother and tell her it would be okay...but he couldn't stay next to his fathers once living body. It would be too painful.
Turning he made a mad dash out and away from pride rock; Rafiki's sad old eyes watching him as he ran, sighing deeply before looking up at the darkening sky;
"Oh my kings...I never dreamed I would out live you both..."

So for the rest of the story just listen to that, it will make sense~

Poor guy... I can directly relate to this. I lost my father 3 years ago and the same despair hit me just the same as Kopa. I suppose it was my father's demise that made me so vicious and cold-hearted now. Enough about me. This is an amazing picture. I'm sure other people might be able to relate to this as well. Great Job!
