I know how you feel. The last horse I owned passed in 1996, a 2yr old palomino semi-leopard Appaloosa named Fridays Rain Song(Cody). He got hold of a plant in my aunts pasture and it sent him in to liver failure.

This is the first horse i've lost to a disease or anything :/
thing is, we havent properly owned him for a few weeks now, he was recently sold. but i was told today about him.
I didnt want to sell him in the first place. i really wish i'd tried harder to convince mum not to sell him </3

Nods. My aunt gave me Cody. My dad had sold my horse years ago to a guy who ended up turning him into a rodeo Bronc. I know this cus I found him 5yrs later in a bucking string at a rodeo.

What a lovely fellow indeed. Sorry to hear of yer loss. Always very painful when a good friend dies. Also sucks when yer friend gets sold too. Sometimes parents do not understand. * Sympathetic supportive hugs to ya*

Had some friends that sold and awesome horse name Rusty to some friends of theirs ago. They first dehydrated him form not giving him enough water then let him get tangled in an old barbed wire fence that enclosed his pasture. Cut through both of his back legs just above the hooves almost to the bones, he died from an infection that got into the cuts. they to wished they had given it more thought before they sold him to these idiots as they put it. A horse needs and welfare must all be addressed before even thinking about having a horse. All things must be taken into consideration. I personally would not sell to someone if I could not be satisfied that all issues were addressed in advance. I have known to many people who just have horse to have a horse and think of it as nothing more than an object to posses. They do not see it for they awesome, warm, loving affectionate creature that it can be if treated right. Oh sorry did I ramble? Its just I really love these awesome creatures.

Again sorry for yer loss of such a lovey creatures as this. May the pain and hurt be gone soon and may you only think of the good times you had with him.

one of my pony's has a scar on her hind leg at the ankle,from a suspected rope burn from the previous owner's place. it doesn't affect her performance at all though (: and she just adores getting it rubbed XD makes her arch her neck and twitch her upper lip XD silly pony ~<3

Indeed,especially when it never had to happen. A pony should only pass on due to nature and old age not stupidity and neglect.

Aw I see, nice that it did not affect her. I bet it is a very touch sensitive spot and thus feels really good thus the funny behavior on her part when it gets rubbed. I have know horse thathad places like this on their bodies too and sometimes if you rubbed these spots they would react by giving one friendly mutual grooming to let you know how much they appreciated it or gently rub their head against you. Horses are very awesome in the way they show their affections sometimes. It is what makes them very wonderful creatures.

Haha my colored horse has a habbit of nipping you when you stroke him. his way of saying thank you. then he leans on you and if you move away he falls sideways slightly :')

That is the most awesome cmpliment a horse can give person when they do this kind of thing. I have know ones that will do this too. It tells you hey yer my buddy and I am letting you know in my own horsie kind of way. I have had some that will make happy sounds and rub their chin on me or the top of their head against my chest or shoulder, some will even just rest their head on yeah if you let them. He sounds like a very friendly guy. Love it when they are friendly like that.

Indeed it is awesome, always fun to get attention from any critter. Critters will always be loving to those who treat them nicely. I have made friends with animals that would not go near others that had been unkind to them. Heck I have even had some shy animals that will not come up to other strangers jump right in my lap. Something about me draws animals to me. I even had a wild goose at a park follow me wherever i went, I am sure if I had set down it most likely would have been perfectly content to sit in my lap too. Animals are awesome.
