Ah, the delights of scientific minds fighting their deterioration into the animal kingdom. They shouldn't have been playing around if they feared the consequences so much. Though even if they find a treatment in time, I don't expect they'd be totally human by the time someone stopped by. Requiring some awkward explanations.

Of course, if they DO make it back, every good experiment needs to be repeatable... So if those explanations get too awkward, perhaps they'll just use them as test subjects? ^_~
