“Now for you next mission” Thixe exclaimed.
We start to exit the room disappointed that are plan was not going to pull off without a hitch. Suddenly we were stopped by Thixe. He yelled “Why is you transformation not complete.” I responded that I didn’t know. So he took his claw and stabbed my back. A sharp pain flowed throughout my body, but something else followed. I saw its progressing flow through my once neon green streaks, but now a milky white color flowed. I felt my upper tail start to swell as it shifted into a spider’s thorax, while part of my tail still remained. Also another pair of eyes appeared on my face, I couldn’t see anything out of them so I figured they were Dexera’s
“That’s better” he exclaimed “Now come along with me.”
He took us to the armory to get us fitted with armor. He selected sinister black and red armor to place over our chest, and smothered some sort of gel across all eight of Dexera’s legs. It felt gooey, but as they touched the ground you could not feel the contact. I found out it was alien impact gel capable of withstanding bullets, and the armor could stay in one piece if I fell from an airplane. He then placed a helmet on top of my head. It disappeared, and the head set sunk back into my scales and couldn’t move it away.
“That microphone is meant to stay so don’t tamper with it. Now this is what I want to do, I want you to capture three people and plant these special spiders on them, when they are in position they will brainwash them into making a scene in front of city hall. The commotion will draw hundreds of people to the area and from there we will build our army.
Dexera screamed “Now attack him.”
As we both lunged at him with claws, and spikes, but a searing pain shocked me.
“I knew that you two were traitors, which is why I gave you the job you would most despise, and would be forced to carry it out under my direction without question. The armor I gave you will inject you with spider venom and every time you disobey me you will be more strongly bent to mine, so don’t disappoint.” Said Thixe
Unwillingly we walked out the door of the ship to corner people and force them into our way of thinking. We journeyed across the tops of building looking for a random stargazer to brainwash. Our hope of delay was short lived because we stumbled across a rooftop party. As the fifty-some people ran away down the fire escape we quickly grabbed two men and a woman from the roof. Held in my claws, we traveled down to the alleyway across from city hall and waited there until morning.
During our stay we reluctantly gave the spiders to our hostages. As our little bugs burrowed their way into their bodies, alien appearances formed around them, but quickly vanished.
“One of the victims spoke “Now that we have control of their bodies we can finally start to take the city for our army.”
Another said “Yes, but first let’s keep our little pets.” The three people picked up the spiders that were scrambling away from their old bodies.
Noon that morning the three disguised aliens emerged from the alleyway and walked up to the steps of the building. The two men pretended to break out in a fight about who the girl should be with. One of them argued that the have known each other since grade school (which was a lie) while the other spoke out that they have been having the time of their life together for the last three weeks. People around the scene began to take sides on who she belonged with and they got in on the action. Bitter comments and fists were exchanged back and forth and soon reporters came to broadcast the large fight going on in front of city hall.
The disguised alien pinned a burly man to the ground and in the midst of it all held a spider to his face. His transformation resulted in a very horse-like appearance. A long muzzle grew from his face and long tentacles hung down. His eyes migrated to the top of his head and scales formed over the top of his eyes resembling a tent. Instead of hooves, or tripods, spider legs emerged from his lengthening torso and three thin, florescent tails sprung out of his back.
As his transformation finished the people had no time to react, because our mother ship crashed into the spire atop city hall and parked itself their. The aliens revealed their identity as more jumped from the roof to join us. I saw Thixe, Amiperi, and what Dexera revealed to me was her body. Her body was very unique compared to all of ours. This one’s arms were hung down to her ankles and they where flattened almost to the thickness of a banana peel.
Thixe announced me as their field marshal and I stepped forward to begin the attack. I knew I didn’t want this to happen but I felt exited for some reason. I charged forward pushing the civilians back to their cars. I didn’t know what I was doing, but I turned around revealing my thorax and hundreds of spiders crawled out and flooded towards the mob. The spiders reached their targets and new aliens formed all over the mass exodus.
Out of the corner of my eye I spotted why Dexera’s body was so different, from her mouth she spat thousands of for lack of description- dragonflies. They were really scaly dart shaped bugs with stingers at the end of their tail, and one large tusk jetting from their chin. Ironically, the sting only turned them to regular aliens. Derexa screamed at what happened to her body.
Only a few ten people escaped from the battlefront, but at least two hundred aliens joined our ranks. Some one I haven’t seen in the line up was mounted on the horse type thing. The veteran aliens all bowed in respect to him, and I did the same to keep free from complete control. He stated that he was General Tiaveza and told us that our army was up to full potential, and that the insects that were released were newly modified and influenced the minds of the new to serve willingly.
The whole battalion marched into the hall and took up residence as the new head quarters. Dexera and I were allowed to have our private quarters. After we reached our room, Dexera spoke through our merged mind and told me that she had control of the spiders she released and she could still hold on to the newly formed, the only exception was the one’s that her old body took control.
We were about to fall asleep the first night when my acute hearing picked up a scratching noise at the door. I went to open it up, but I did not find anyone wanting me. I went back to bed confused, but I found out who was there. The three spiders that were created when captured the decoys for the battle where mounted the night stand. They let out squeaks, but still I could not understand what they want. I heard the same squeaks coming from my own mouth. I heard Dexera communicate in a spider’s language, I completely forgot that she was really still a spider and not really my dog. After their communications were done, the spiders fled from the room. Through our minds I asked her what she told them. “I told them to head over to the zoo, for our rebellion.” I knew exactly what she was thinking.
I snuck off from my room to watch it unfold. I managed to stalk all three spiders all the way to their selected exhibits. The first one, climbed into an African exhibit, and crawled on top of something big and grey. I at first I thought it was a rock but then streaks of electric green spilled across its back. Its tail that I recently noticed frayed out and smoothed into florescent strands. The elephant spun around revealing what was happening to its face. Its giant ears were growing abnormally circling all the way around its neck. Its tusks filed themselves down until they became serrated. Its tusk grew spikes above the scales that appeared all over its body. Finally its eyes slimmed down and reddened while a second pair grew underneath. I marveled at the power that the creature now possessed and felt lucky that it was on our side.
The second creature that formed was a tiger that when bitten completely altered itself. It resembled a saber-toothed tiger at first but, scales then covered its body. Tripods formed, and the tiger grew a more controlled step. Its tail glowed solid green, but remained the same shape. Its torso had a change of its own; it stretched out, and revealed spikes that poked through the excess. I had little time to awe, because I notice a third change. A shark was bitten.
The first thing that happened spider legs grew out of the flippers and tail, then I realized I knew things about my “Home” planet. There was no water so we survived on and abundance of mercury found on our planet. The shark’s neck elongated and you could now tell were the torso ended and the head began. Its fin grew knife sharp and its bluish color was replace with scales.
We realized that my own rebel army was complete and we could finally get rid of the enemy aliens. The next day wile the veterans were still celebrating their victory I took the controlled soldiers outside to begin the attack. It was planned out in great detail in the day it took to organize. I would call for the general to negotiate, or probably for him attack, with some official and he would be outside. My army would take him out first and swarm the building taking out all the leaders in the organization. We would spare as many new ones as we could, but there would be casualties, but we would have taken most of the control. I even planned my own innocence, so I would not be controlled, I would tie myself in my room and pretend that I had nothing to do with it.
The first part of my plan seemed to go off without a hitch, by the sound off it the General called for reinforcements. I heard screaming and things breaking, so I figured I planned accordingly. Unfortunately I did not expect my own soldier to try to rescue me from my room, and while he did that our enemy spotted that I was on their side, and took off running to Thixe.
Since I was no longer able to play innocent I spider crawled on board the mother ship. Dexera and I saw no one aboard so we figured that this was our chance. We hopped into the chamber and activated the machine. Gas filled into our chamber and my muzzle, tail, and second pair of eyes vanished. In the other I saw that in the other chamber Dexera reappeared, but was standing on spider legs instead of tripods. She walked funny, but she could still move quickly. I noticed something else, that my armor was gone and that I was free! We headed back downstairs and I saw something I couldn’t believe.
Dexera’s body was the lone survivor in the entire building. Once she saw us she spit hundreds of dragon flies our way. The many stings were almost unbearable, but the partial spider DNA kept me under my one control and the same with my companion two. We both sprinted in, avoiding her long reach. While I pinned her down Dexera searched the body for the spider keeping her inline, she saw nothing and her heart dropped. The spider buried itself deep enough to actually become its host. As she almost fainted from her shock, I knew that I had to finish it and sunk my claw into her throat.
The deed was done and now Dexera and I were the only two survivors. I had no idea how to change back. Dexera told me to search the general for the DNA repair module to change myself back. She also told me that she actually was a spider now and her DNA will always remain so. I activated the device on myself, my dog, and took my little spider home.
The next day of my almost normal life, I saw that Dexera seemed depressed being and insignificant little spider so I went out and got her something. She was confused that I brought home a pet toucan. I told her that it was for her, and that the toucan didn’t have the will to live so it was her new body. She was ecstatic and bit down and the bird. There was a very distinct difference with this transformation. As scales emerged, they matched the colors of the feathers they replaced instead of jet black. Its tail grew out and into florescent tubes, and shined bright colors. Its beak had small studs across the peak of the arc. She loved her new body and tried flying around. She finally had something to compensate for her loss of humanity.
Now this is my normal life; memories of an alien war, trying to act like I wasn’t part of it, and trying to explain and alien toucan to anyone who visits. Yep, its just the right amount of order and insanity.
