I just checked, and even Notepad will open a .rtf file. There's some formatting code that shows up, but you can get to the story. I'm honestly surprised that these days people lack something that can at least read a .rtf. Even .doc is pretty widely supported (and there's always OpenOffice, for free, that reads all that stuff, and more, and works better that Microsoft Office). Ideally, tho, it'd be nice if FA would allow uploading of stories in html format. EVERYBODY could read that one if they can get to the website. We also wouldn't get the problems of the utter lack of formatting that comes with .txt downloads, or the horribly small default font size for regular view.

Actually... The download won't work since my service blocks all downloads unless it's part of the page I'm already on, so... X<

Wow, that's either a really bad service, or some sort of school/work network from the sound of it. I guess there's no solution that works for everyone.
