I'm so proud of this. Seriously. I'm not sure why, I just am. It might have something to do with the fact that this is an update of an older picture. A picture that I sketched about a month ago, and the fact that I can see my own improvements in it makes me happy. Here's the original: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7684712/
I tried something a little different with this one. The only inks used were on some of the smallest facial details, everything else is pure pencil. I thought it should have a foggy/misty look to it, and was also curious to see if I could make noticeable color outlines without making everything stand out too much the way inks do. My rain effects could use some work.
This is my take on how Scar might look had he somehow escaped the hyenas and the flames. The lines around him are meant to be rain (it does start raining pretty soon after that scene) His mane is meant to look a little singed, fresh cuts (new scars) and burns from both the hyenas and the fire and his right eye is swollen half shut. Looks like he's trying to slink away again and someone's spotted him. Simba? The hyenas? Who knows, but they better let him go.
