Hello Brittany and everyone,
I wanted to share some pictures of what I have been doing. Here is a short description of all the pictures with numbers.
1) This is when I fell in the river. It was waist deep but I manage to fall toward the shallow side ^.^
2) My machine gunner was holding security in an overwatch position where we set in for an ambush. See the area we can cover
3) This area is known as Beverly Hills. Just look at the buildings. This is my dog handler on security. This day we escorted EOD to blow up 3 IED's. I got footage
4) This is me again. The man in the wheel chair I was really glad to meet. I saved his fathers life last time I was here in Afghanistan. I told him the story. At first they were mad at marines for shooting at his father. I thought his father was shot and later died. Turns out the marines missed, and that family was happy I did what I could to save his fathers life but stopping the marines. This meeting took a huge burden off my shoulders.
5) This is a poppy field, as you can see there is alot of water where we patrol. This is the most dangerous village in our sector. We got lucky. Also an IED infested area with snipers, RPG's and machine guns. Like I said, we got lucky.
6) This is us patrolling in the river again. This marine is my best dude. I am trying to get him promoted. This river was waist deep but he passed that deep part. I got video footage of it too
7) This is my Lieutenant. I was making him hold security and made him carry our THOR system. hehe. We were set in for another ambush in that dangerous village. We were expecting heavy contact but again, we got lucky. Probably because I rolled in there with 3 squads. My squad was the main effort and assualting element, because we are bad ass like that
8) This is me again, I gear up like this rolling out with two rifles now. When I have my machine gunner take out his 240 golf, I carry his M-16 so that when he runs out of bullets I can pass him his rifle. Yeah, it gets heavy carrying all the gear. But the locals like the fact I carry two weapons. They think it's cool. And then I show them our machine gun and they go
And the middle picture is my and my homies and my love.
I miss you all so much.
Well, this is just passed the first month. Lets see what new pictures I get later. And already I know almost every villager here. It's crazy because I know their names without having to look at my notes or pictures to remember them. The local national really like me here. Or they act like it. But so far it seems geniune
Take care and love you all!

Awesome pictures, buddy! I wish I had to guts to post pics of my job on FA... Nobody wants to see my ugly mug anyways. Great stories to accompany the pics. I always cringe when I hear about American Casualties in Afghanistan and I pray you we not involved. Stay safe out there. We're looking forward to having you home again.
