I had an art block so I decided to go looking through my old art folders, and I found THIS.
It's about time this project saw the light of the internet! This is the banner I made for Mississippi State University's Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) department for the 2009 Engineering (E-Week) banner contest.
There's quite a story behind it. =) I was approached by a couple fellow CSE students organizing the festivities who said, "So we Googled you and found out you do art. Can you make a banner for us?"
Then, while I was tossing around ideas for the design, my (Also CSE!) friend Jennifer Barret jokingly said, "You should do Firefox and Internet Explorer fighting."
The more I thought about her idea, the more I HAD TO DRAW IT. So you must thank Jennifer for the results! =) Three days and acrylic paints made this banner.
Mecha-large Robot Internet Explorer versus Godzilla Mozilla Firefox is supposed to represent the cooperation and competition of advancing technology which gets more and more amazing each year. =)
I never heard the results of the contest, but I'm pretty sure we took the cake. COMPUTER SCIENCE REPRESENT! >:D

Your former classmates were so normal and not creepy in anyway.
Your use of the Internet Explorer logo and E-mail icon is very clever. I don't know what to think of the IE halo, though. It looks like some kind of shield, but at the same time some kind of exaggerated missile trail.
I love that burning, disintegrating error prompt behind Foxzilla. As if the option to escape is just gone.
Nice to see that at least something doesn't change during a crisis. Too bad it had to be a pop-up; I don't care how delicious Coca-Cola may be.
