Just my two cents, but personally I like the first one better. It has shading, the chihuahuas on the left are more detailed and seem more proportional, the eggs are very round and realistic in the first, you even put shadows on the ground. This one on the right just seems rushed.
Yeah, I spent more time on the first one. But that was my downfall. When I originally started drawing this comic, it took me over a week to draw and color one page. I finished the entire new cover in less than two days. With 105 pages ahead of me to color, I'd better be able to do it more efficiently.

Looking good. I like the crisp lines and colors you used on the second. Lily's expression is better and cuter. The Chihuahuas have better tails.
Works well for a comic to not have to spend so much time shading and detailing. Cartoon characters are often not proportioned well. And the eggs look like pokemon eggs, not real eggs.
