This is going to be one of the characters later on in the story. Called the Enigma,

the Enigma is a creature born of sadness and Despair, They seek out people who are unhappy within the human world and try to befriend them, however they also have this hunger for flesh which leads to a lot of deaths. If the Enigma does not consume flesh and meat, for a long period of time, they will fall deeper into madness and lose them self.

All the Enigma wants is to be happy, but this is not easy to achieve.
