Its more effort then it looks like. Long lense, an external flash, and a long exposure.
I wanted to show the dynamic in the body whout loosing too much sharpness. So i took a rather long exposre for an action-shot mixed with the flash to freeze parts of the body.

The wings.. they fascinate me in some way. Your goal to capture the dynamics: you reached it. Very nicely done and good looking, too. :) Also, the water around it making those waves and curls was pretty nicely shot.
Is this bird an Inca Tern? I cannot say it for sure, but it might be one. :)

i tried .. very often before i got this. I focused manually cause my macro lense is pretty damn slow xD

Iam not really sure about the bird. But yeah, I think you are right about Inca Tern.
(this are the times i really would love to have a 70-200mm , or a comparweable lense with extremly fast AF~)
