First; OMG SENSOR DUST!
Must clean camera. Indeed.
So we had some Osprey trying to build a nest on the power lines right by the rehab center I work at.
Yea, not a good idea guys. So we called up the local power company and let them know.
They agreed that it was a bad idea so they came down and put fitted the powerpole so the osprey couldn't continue building their nest.
This was Wednesday. On Thursday they came back and put up a nesting platform for them right by the pole but about 15 feet higher up.
Yesterday we saw them sitting on the platform.
Today I got to witness them bringing in nesting material.
Here's the male doing is task of making the nest.

The power company who supplies power in our area is very considerate of raptors and is very proactive in their protection.
Any time a bird of prey is seen building a nest on one of their power poles the pole is retrofitted with anti-raptor equipment and I put up a platform for them to use instead. This is all done at cost to the power company and they will respond to the call same day to fix the issue.
They also donate money to raptor protection acts. Considering the danger of power lines it's good to see a company that is proactive at stopping a problem they know is caused by them.

it's really really nice to see a company help out like this. The companies around here don't help like this, and the Osprey is still considered endangered in Ohio, our populations are just coming back up. There's a cell tower down the road from me where the osprey made the nest. It tool a lot of people protesting when the company wanted to tear the nest down and a lot of loss in business for the company that owned the tower before they had the tower 'updates' so that it could house the nest safely. So yeah, hearing your company came and did it and is so proactive with raptors is awesome.
