I never quite understood this character, he's a fire fighter kid who protects other kids from potential child predators? Seems like Mamoru-kun is just the personification of Fukuoka Prefecture's disaster alert email system but sort of also serves as some sort of public safety mascot too?

I like this image. It kinda reminds me of the situation in the opening of "The Last Exile" where great sky ships fought each other with phalanxes of soldiers firing at each other point blank as they did in the Colonial days. The Soldiers all used steam fired weapons that threw ball shot, and when the shooting was finished, the blast doors were closed, and the ships would retreat a safe distance while the score was tallied up. Of course things changed when the opposing army dropped from above and started shooting out weapons systems and the anti-gravity drives.

Anyhoo... This image is far more "Playful" and fun looking than anything out of "Last Exile." I especially like the big whistle.

I stared at it for a minute or two before it finally hit me! Also, I had no idea there was another game. I thought Solatorobo: Red the Hunter was a standalone game.
