Since I have such a difficulty drawing bears, I thought that I'd knuckle down and just draw one in less than an hour. This took 37 minutes.
I'm not going to call this a speed-draw, since I had to use an external source, which you can find here.

I'm not good with bears either, so I cant really give a bunch of tips or anything on this. What I will say, though, is that this looks really good, especially for having not done bears and such at all/often. First though that came to my head was the bear from the cover of the kids book "brown bear, brown bear, what do you see?" you did really good :)
Its pretty old, it was old even when I was younger I believe. Brown bear is the one I remember most, there is also polar bear and a few other ones.

Granted, your bear looks a TON better than this bear, it just made me think of the book.
